Society Interventions You see an elderly man, or woman waiting at an intersection which is quite busy..do you help them cross?
You pull into a parking lot that has handicap parking, and see someone who does not have a handicap permit or license plates, pull into the spot. Do you say something? Someone is on the 10 items or less line at the supermarket, with more then 10 items..do you say something? Someone yanks at their dog by the leash, and the dog yelps..do you say something? You're at a department store, and someone's kid is running amok knocking things down, while the parent ignores said behaviour...do you say something? You're in a nice restaurant on a date, or eating with some friends, or whatever..the person at the table next to you is having a conversation (loudly) on a cell phone...do you say something?

They can't help that they are old. It's not like pregnant women or something. 2. Yes i would say something about the handicap parking. There are people that really need that. Again, like old people. They did not choose their predicament. 3. No, supermarket stuff is not worth getting into a confrontation over. 4. I am an animal lover so i would say something if an animal was being abused. 5. I would just pity the woman and the kid and be glad i was not in that situation. 6. I would probably allow the loud converstation on a date. It would drown out any of her talk that is boring me.

Ex-Moderator | For all of the above it depends on my mood, but most often, yes, I'd help the elderly cross the street and I'd likely keep my mouth shut on the rest. Most of that stuff I just let roll off my back, but if I'm in a particularly irritable mood, I might speak up. |

Do you say something?Yes, and the line I use is "The sign means it's meant for the physically challenged, not the mentally challenged, jerk!" Someone is on the 10 items or less line at the supermarket, with more then 10 items..do you say something? Probably not, it's no big deal Someone yanks at their dog by the leash, and the dog yelps..do you say something? No, a yank isn't that awful, but if they were really hurting it...I would definitely say something You're at a department store, and someone's kid is running amok knocking things down, while the parent ignores said behaviour...do you say something? No, I just feel bad for the kid for having such shitty parents You're in a nice restaurant on a date, or eating with some friends, or whatever..the person at the table next to you is having a conversation (loudly) on a cell phone...do you say something?Hell, yes

See, what I'll generally do is ask if someone needs help. If they want it, great, if not, then they can tell me that and very few take offense. There are always gonna be old biddys. |

Say nothing and call a cop. Yes I say something, most often I say outloud that they must be the "owner". No, dogs yulp sometimes for nothing. I do look however and that makes people aware of being watched. No, you have no rights to say something to anothers' child. Once there was a brat and they were not listening to their mother who was trying to get the child under control. I looked at the child and said, "you should really listen to your mother" the woman looked at me and said "don't scare my child". If a behavior like that is tolarated at a "nice restaunt", then you need rethink your idea of what a "nice restaunt" is. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
