Looking at the 40s list. Glad to see Rebecca on there. Probably my fave Hitchcock film (that or North by Northwest or Rear Window). Sullivan's Travels is excellent. As far as Preston Sturges is concerned, I really love The Lady Eve. It's beautifully funny, and Barbara Stanwyck remains one of the most underappreciated comedic actresses.

I was in high school when it came out and my two friends and I went to see it in the theater. They hated it; and I was so moved by it that my face had swelled up from the amount of blubbering I experienced. My eyes become extremely red and puffy when I cry. Well, when I got home, my dad gave me the 10th degree and thought I'd been out partying and was high. I tried to tell him where I'd been, even showed him my ticket stub, but I was still grounded for two weeks!

Anyway, I bought the DVD and I've only watched it once due to the stress it puts my poor face through. Watch it another time or two and my eyes'll probably pop out.
