Ladybugs!!!

A ladybug landed on me today, she walked around on my hand (and it tickled), before she finally flew away biggrin
They are so beautiful mushy

Too bad i didn`t think of taking a picture doh!

Did you know:

- There are nearly 5,000 different kinds of ladybugs worldwide

- A female ladybug will lay more than 1000 eggs in her lifetime

- A ladybug beats its wings 85 times a second when it flies

- Ladybugs chew from side to side and not up and down like people do

- If you squeeze a ladybug it will bite you, but the bite won't hurt

- The spots on a ladybug fade as the ladybug gets older

- The male ladybug is usually smaller than the female

- Ladybugs are good luck because they are the nannies to the fairies.
So if you see one there is sure to be a fairy colony nearby. nod

mushy my daughter loves ladybugs. that's her symbol at preschool... so i call her my little ladybug. she catches them in our backyard, and is so pleased with herself when she gets one! biggrin

the other day she was on the front porch and turned to me and said "mommy, i'm trying to put my ladybug back together b/c i squished her so i'm trying to put her back together." lol

tease I love to hear stories like that, it almost makes me wish i was a kid again. Every time my mother found a ladybug she used to put it in my hands and tell me to wait for it to fly away, and make a wish touched

(damn, i forgot to make a wish today lol)

well thanx to the "benifits" of them and importation ...

2 times a yr we get swarmed and i mean swarmed... thousands upon thousands of them around and inside the house for weeks and weeks

cute rolleyes used to think so

the things STINK...and they can bite/sting and the leave little shit marks all over

i say kill them all

friggin lady bugs rolleyes

BTW ... white sage ( burn bundles ) and camphor oil are pretty good at keeping them away

pesticides make them dye slow and as they do the smear orange blood ooze all over where they crawl

i cant stand the things anymore shrug

I can see why you`re sick of them, when it`s that much of them and they come inside the house, it`s a problem.

I remember my 2 year away at school, i lived in a small place which crawled with some weird bugs,
in Norway we call them "Kaffedyr", which would mean something like "Coffee-bugs" (!)
They have a hard dark shell, and that`s basically what they look like, like a little striped shell walking around feeling ill

you had to wear lace up shoes because if you wore anything that wasn't tight a grasshopper would end up in your shoe and go squish ill

My mom always told me lady bugs are good luck,if they land on you that means good fortune is coming your way

Mach you are extremely lucky!

One year our church got robbed. The following Sunday the whole back wall was covered in lady bugs. A few months later we received a donation and the church got remodeled woot!

I love lady bugs! The last time a ladybug landed on me, I went shopping...and it was sales galore

I just like to believe it boxed

Nice stories biggrin

To veer away slighty but still on the Ladybirds theme, there was a kid in my infants school who used to eat them, chase other kids and then spit the ladybird out at them sad Little devil child mad
