I use to think it was "The Count of Monte Crisco"

And no...I've not read it.
I'm firmly planted in denial

What are they? Ham and cheese dipped in batter and fried?

9sy, that's my favorite novel. I've never seen -- outside of Scripture -- writing that deals with the core of manhood, justice, mystery, the relation of man and God, and twooo wuvvvv. During my twenties, I made a ritual of reading it once a year. I love that book. Dumas was a genius.

I can only hope that young Imago will take a moment to complete what he's started.

I have the unabridged version in my bookcase. I need to crack it.

Yeah it really is quite a book....too much of a book for Dan, methinks.

smile

It's one of those books you don't want to end. I should read it again too.

What is your fixation on this Dan?
His soul shall taste the sadness of her might,
And be among her cloudy trophies hung.

I've read, and re-read the Count of Monte Cristo probably 6 or 7 times. It's just a great classic, a tale of love, revenge...The original movie was very good too, I think Leslie Howard starred in it. It may sound corny, but the Three Muskateers, which was also written by Alexandre' Dumas is also a great read.
