What do you do at lunch? Its lunchtime here again, and I dont know what to do!
Were right in the centre of town, so i could go for a walk, go to the shops, sit in the measly bit of grass labelled "park". But I bring a packed lunch and have no money for shops and cant really be bothered going for a pointless walk! So I usually just stay here, org and play solitaire. Everyone plays solitaire, once theyve gone out to get their lunch. What do you do on your lunchbreak?? And what do you usually eat? I have a sandwich and fruit

Since the weather's been nice, if I bring my lunch I go out and sit on Nicollet Mall and eat outside and people watch. Nicollet Mall is a pedestrian and bus only street in downtown Mpls w/lots of outdoor cafes and shops and such. On thursdays there is a farmers market open all down the mall, so I'll wander amongst the carts and vendors, occasionally buying fruit for lunch and I keep meaning to pick up flowers, so maybe I'll do that this coming Thursday.
I usually bring a protein shake and a raw veggie or fruit. If I don't bring a lunch, I may purchase a bagel, or sometimes I splurge on fish tacos from Baja Tortilla Grill. : ) |

I work around the corner from our National Art Gallery, Natural History Museum, and National Library, all of which are great for wandering around at lunch time so that's what I do occasionally.
Although most days the city centre is packed and it takes me so long to battle through the crowds to buy some lunch that by the time I get back to the office I'm sick of the world and just want to queitly eat my lunch while playing Spider Solitaire (far more fun than ordinary Solitaire). Lunch is always a sandwich, must be made with real, proper bread (with actual fibre and grains in it), must contain some sort of leaves, and must not under any circumstances contain chicken. I have the feeling Im gonna get a job soon though... yeah, it's the same where i work. we've been going through a lull. i don't get paid for working through lunch anyway, so i just hang out and if someone says anything about it, i just say "oh, i was just about to clock out for lunch, yeah..." - but i'm usually occupied with SOMEthing.

Depends, really...
My office is only 5 minutes from the city centre so I have a range of options. If it's a Monday, I always go into town and do my usual Monday morning music hunt. (I expect some US Orgers do this on a Tuesday). Even if I know something isn't out, I still have a look. You never know. Most days I like to pop to Sainsburys, pick up a newspaper, then pick up some lunch, come back to the office and Org. I try not to go into town if I can help it, especially on weekends.

The last week or so I've been sitting outside with a book or paper and just enjoying the sunshine, really. There's nothing worse than window shopping. And watch that back!

I usually go out with coworkers and it's usually salad...although, I've had a nasty case of tonsillitis, so it's been soup lately.

That's the worst. I have horrible tonsils, they really should be taken out. If I get sick, they LITERALLY touch each other. They're swollen even when I'm healthy.

Mostoften, around lunchtime, I am just getting out of bed. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
