Weird dietary rules

I never drink coffee after noon.

I never drink soda until well after I've had breakfast.

I can't eat a meal if I'm not wearing a shirt, or else I feel like I'm in that movie "Gummo".

I won't drink cold milk out of a coffee mug. I'm reluctant to drink cold milk from any opaque tumbler or glass, with the exception of metal tumblers.

In fact, I won't drink any cold drinks out of a coffee mug unless it's a really desperate occasion.

nuts

Anyone else have weird eating/drinking rules?

I cannot eat room temperature fruits and vegetables.
I cannot eat bananas that are completely ripe (I like a little bit of green), and definitely no bananas that are turning brown! ill
No fish on my plate that looks like a fish - no head, eyes, gills, any of that crap.

i once worked with a woman who refused to eat hot food. if we ordered food together, she'd take it out of the container and wait for it to get room temperature before she'd eat it. shrug

I only drink things out of plastic cups if forced to. Everything in my own home is glass. Except water, which I drink out of a plastic water bottle, cause other wise my kitty will drink out of the glass.
In fact I always prefer things to be in theri proper glass.
No caffeine after about 10 am.
I hate, hate, hate food that is not hot enough. I need to eat things as soon as they are done cooking. They must not sit around and become room temperature.

i wouldn't call myself fussy. i can adapt really well in environments where i can't "have it my way". john waters says he un-invites party guests to his dinner parties when they tell him they have dietary restrictions. "you can't eat what i'm serving? then don't come." lol and i agree!

but in the comfort of my own home, i'm not drinking any chocolate milk out of my 3121 fammy fam mug! hmph!

I get what youre saying nod Its not that fussy! I just couldnt care less shrug If drinking out of a special cup means washing dishes, Ill drink out of something else! lol

i refuse to use the microwave to heat water, especially for tea or any other hot drink. it doesn't taste right. kettle or nothing. nod

It can be really dangerous to do that anyway. We had a bit of health and safety training on why you shouldnt use the microwave to make coffee/tea because once you take it out, even though its not simmering or anything, either the liquid or the cup itself could explode. eek

nod there really isnt much use for it, unless you live on those microwave ready meals. The only thing I use it for is baking potatoes because Im too impatient to boil them, and the very very rare aforementioned ready meal. Not essential!

yeah, we hardly use ours anymore either. i prefer to bake my potatoes, they just taste better. and if i don't have the time to bake them, i'd rather not have them at all.

i do lots of stir fries and curries with frozen mixed veggie mixes, and the microwave is good for thawing those out before i throw 'em in the wok. that's about all i use mine for. that and my microdillas (NOT A WORD no no no! ).

Yeah, after I moved to a place with a gas stove, I was amazed at how much I didn't miss having a microwave. Then I had a roommate for a blissfully brief while, and she left a microwave at my place. I don't know if I'm gonna keep it. whofarted

It is good for thawing things, and reheating leftovers without getting a pan dirty, I guess.

Weird dietary rules. . . hm. No chunky liquids (pulp-free juice, please, and strain tea if at all possible). Fruit should be fresh and cold; no warm/cooked fruit, with rare exception (this mainly involves keeping raisins and other fruit out of baked stuff like bread and pastries -- warm fruit things that are basically ALL fruit, like pie, are allowed but not encouraged). Carbonation is strongly discouraged, unless I'm eating greasy stuff, in which case soda is acceptable. All things briny and/or pickled are bad. Artificial sweeteners are evil. Caffeine is Good, at All Hours, Every Day.

And I, too, prefer hot things in mugs and cold things in glasses, avoiding plastic as much as possible. Plastic cups SUCK. mad I have some acrylic plates that are super cool, but that's it.

But, in reality, my vegan diet makes me picky by default, so the rest of this is entirely flexible in the company of others.
oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

I don't believe in diet foods/drinks. If I want a Coke, I want the real thing. There's plenty of things that are healthy w/o being bastardized versions of things I actually like.

nod the amount of chemicals and additives we put into our bodies (and worse, our children's bodies) is astounding.

nod ALWAYS stand over the sink while eating, that way when your splatter misses the plate there's still no mess. nod

the real thing? so you juice your coca cola straight from the cola tree? giggle

i know what you mean, but i drink the diet stuff because i figure coke is full of chemicals anyway, might as well at least cut back on the calories. shrug
