I got the kiss of fire! I just had chili paste fried rice from the thai joint around the corner, and I got a terminal case of the hot tongue!
Um, I should try to make this thread useful. What's the hottest (as in spicy) food you've ever eaten? Did you hurt yourself? Would you do it again? ANSWER ME!!!! Meanwhile, I'm gonna go blow fire at my cat until my mouth cools off.

That's the worst! I don't remember the hottest, but just this last weekend they opened up a new global market in Mpls (which we're taking you to we decided, BTW) and we had the yummiest Nepali food and Darin and I shared this thing that was half a raw cucumber (split length-wise) just spread with this spicy stuff. BOY HOWDY was it hot! HOT! And I'd already finished my Mexican coke! I thought I was gonna die. |

My husband & I went for Thai food one night. He got Red Curry and asked for it HOT- which he always does but this place was REALLY hot!
Mine was intense too- think I got green curry.. It was so hot that it made us sick to our stomachs- that has never happened to ne before I usually like it really hot but this was way too hot.. sickening hot.. I felt like I was going to vomit from the heat..

Yeah. . . you know those dried peppers that you sometimes get in "Asian" food? They're prolly an inch or so long, bright red. . . not the hottest ever, but pretty hot. My mom dared me to eat some, and offered ten bucks a pop. I think I ate three? Man, it hurt for a long time, but. . . you know. . . 30 bucks. . . whatchagonnado. . . oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

I felt like I was going to vomit from the heat.. the absolute WORST experience i ever had with hot food was at a dinner party, where a friend of mine garnished our dishes with one of those little plum tomato looking green peppers...i thought it was cute, so i popped it into my mouth, and OH. MY. GOD. i really thought i was going to have to go to the emergency room. there were tears and snot and drool running down my face and i emptied two quarts of milk straight from the carton and i was STILL in pain from it. and i don't have to go into detail about the extremely memorable restroom moments the next day, i'm sure...

It spreads the hot around in your mouth. Milk or bread or alcohol or rice tend to be best cause they'll take the hot down with them. |

Fizzy drinks just hurt because of the bubbles
