My b-day parties usually end up disastrous....

my 25th started out cool.... 3 32oz White Russian daquiris (with xtra Absolut), 10 shots of Jagermeister (10 signifying the date) and a couple pitchers of brew....all this before 10pm...then a friend and I went to a spot in N.O. called Nick's....famous for mixing/layering multiple liquers in one drink...colorful names like "Kermit's Middle Finger" and "1-800-FucMeUp"...had quite a few of those....so around midnight we decided to go to Pat O'Briens in the French Quarter....not too sure to this day if we ever made it...all I know is I woke up 8 hours later in my house, late for work (called in...) and completely clueless as to what happened....which would explain my shock to discover my wallet with ALL of its contents gone....my best guess is that I left it at Nicks....or somewhere in the darkness between Pat O's and home....

needless to say, I kept the following years party low key....
He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
(George Eliot)

Oh I must have been 6 or 7. Those huge birthday parties for kids where there's insane amounts of candy, cake, lemonade and other sweets for everyone. Games, running around woot! Being forced to dress up like a sailor sucked ass though, but this was the 80s and little boys were commonly dressed up as sailors. Go figure how it affected the rest of our lives. confused
