yeah male and female circumcision is totally different...the female is muitlated and is badly scarred for life....male circumsion is nothing compared to what the female goes through. It's like the guy getting punched in the arm and the female getting beaten with meatal bats by ten men.

and as far as everyone heated responses to having a male child circumsised...i am very upset and disappointed. i had my son circumsised at birth. this was a very difficult decision for me. i am a single mom whos ex doesn't take much interest in his child (he never did). when the doctor asked me if i wanted to have my son circumsised i thought a lot on the subject and asked family members for their input.

my uncle got an infection at 14 and had to be circumsised....he said it was the worst experience of his life and because of the memories he had his son done at birth.

one of my closest friend had the same problem (infection) with her 6 year old son and he had to be circumsised. he cried for weeks.

my moms cousin married into the Jewish religion and had to get circumsised at 40. he won't talk about the experience other than to say it was done and to advocate for it at birth.


i made the decision to have it done. i cried the entire time he was in surgery. i resent the fact that people on here are claiming i 'mutilated' my son. this was a common practice in North America in the 70's (and still today). almost every male child had it done at birth. i never saw an uncircumsised penis until i slept with a foreigner. and i have been around the block.

please don't shit on those who decided to do something you may not approve of. that is why we all have differences of opinion...it keeps the world interesting. i'm sorry i didn't research the subject prior to going to the hospital and giving birth to a male child. i was 21...and not prepared for having a child...nor deciding on something that will affect my child forever. i do not regret my decision however i regret not being more informed when the procedure was done.

But the fact still remains that it is indeed mutilation and it's a procedure that is not needed. Most men that have not been circumsised do not develop these horrid infections that people say can happen.
