why needles? if a filling falls out surely they can just
refill the tooth after cleaning it up and roughening the
edges of the hole again?

i've never had any surgical work done with sedation, well
the wisdom teeth removal yes, but fillings and such is
better without being stunned imo, lol.

the drilling hurts for like 3 minutes, the effects of the
shot in your mouth takes hours and hours to wear off plus
it's bad as fuck for your system.

no painkillers and no stun-shots. go european biggrin

Well dont count British in European then!! thats insane disbelief I dont know how much dental work youve had, but Ive had it ALL - at least twice nod

You try getting a root canal without anaesthetic! tease

wink

well no. i've had a lot of fillings and one tooth pulled without
anaesthetis.

but if my dentist would try to give me a root canal without any
kind of anaestetic i would cut of his scrotum

Some dentists nowdays drill with a laser instead of the old fashioned drills. It's actually alot nicer, you can hardly feel a thing.

I agree with IstenSzek, just get it done without the anesthetics, it's really not bad at all. It's like biting into a cold ice cream cone, where you get that freeze headache for a moment, then it's over real quick. It's way better than leaving the doctors office looking like you had a stroke for the next 3 hours.

yeah, it took four more vials than normal to numb me. I have a huge tolerance to pain medicine, it comes from my father's side of the family. When he started drilling, that shit hurt like hell, which is no big deal, but that fucking intimidating needle..... mad

Now I look like Kramer when he was wearing the "Jimmy" shoes.

I had a filling recently and my dentist asked me if id like my gum numbed or could I try it without, i said I would try it without (for the first time) and it didnt hurt as much as i expected, it was just uncomfortable, she put something in my mouth, next to my tooth which was very irritating, and I asked her what it was and she said it was cotton wool, I kept feeling like I was going to swallow it. grr.

One of the worst stories I have ever heard was this woman who had a tooth that was falling apart on her and she got a piece of food stuck back there and could feel it dangling and so she reached back there with some tweezers and yanked on it and it wasn't a piece of food but the tooth's NERVE!!!!

yes. 4 years ago while on a plane on my way to Jamaica i was chewing a piece of gum so my ears would pop and half my filling came out. i am so afraid of dentists it took 2 years for me to go get it fixed. it was horribly painful on a daily basis but the work that was done on the tooth was even worse.

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.
