The first line, where you say you met this guy in a bar, had me thinking this thread would go a totally different way, hehehe.
But I am glad you are able to shape your life the way you want to, mr. It always great to be able to give something back. And you are the perfect candidate! One of the few here not tainted by cynicism. Big hug from me!

Richard.
What can I add that hasn't been said already??! Fantastic news! You are totally cut-out for this sort of thing. I'm so pleased to see your life is going in this direction. To think that you'll be doing something so positive and so beneficial for those in need - these youngsters will be extremely lucky to have you. They can certainly learn a lot from you. And I'm sure it'll bring you a lot of personal satisfaction. This is something that I've been thinking about for a very long time - or voluntary work of some sort, at least - and, as always, you're an inspiration. The way you've stayed positive and on track... there may be a lot more well-adjusted young gay people in your area as a result of this. Please let us know how this turns out. Take care and good luck with this new phase in your life. Ax

Thing is, it MUST be where you are meant to be because even with that unexpected hiccup, you are still going to be there doing what you were meant to do and what you will be exceptional at. I'm so happy for you! I felt like this inside when she said that But being that this thing searched me out, I sure in hell wasn't gonna let a minor detail like that stand in my way 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

When I went in on Tuesday, I helped to make the calls for the local AIDSwalk. got to meet that group of volunteers. That is where the guy, I first met, went to.
Well they brought up 2 teens to help with the phones and they latched onto me right away. I was the same age as the other 2 guys but I could tell the difference between their interaction with them and mine. Since I am young in spirit it's not hard for me to identify with that kind of young excitement. And I could tell that when I am set to work with younger people, it's going to be natural and fluid for me. I cannot wait to use my gifts in that way 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I've been working with teenagers in a filmmaking club for about a year and a half. I started volunteering. I wasn't sure what to do at the beginning but the more I showed up, the more I naturally made friends with the kids. Then I slowly began to realize that they truly VALUED my presence and that I had something important to offer. Then they started PAYING me a small amount just to encourage me to come all the time! But despite all that, it has become one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done. I always come back feeling incredibly alive and nourished.
I think what you are doing will feel even more meaningful and I am excited about the happiness it will bring you.

Kids or teenagers or anyone else "below" you does not want to be treated as such, but unfortunately a lot of people look down on others without even realising it. Those people annoy me! Im glad its working out for you! Do you work full time somewhere else? Are you just doing this in you spare time?
