The Omen (2006 version)

Great remake! Aside from casting Julia Stiles as Liev Schriebers wife (he's pushing 40 and she's in her 20's), they did a really nice job updating this movie with todays current events. The kid who they cast as Damien also fit the role really well, his expressions are great. Mia Farrow is wicked as hell, especially at the end.

One odd thing, I noticed they kept using a strange sound effect during the intense moments of the movie, where it almost sounds like a series of gunshots or fireworks going off. I'm curious what they meant by that.

There's a handful of "shock" moments that catch you off guard, and one great beheading scene that I will definitely be watching in slo-mo when it comes out on DVD smile

This is the only good review I have seen of this movie. It has been panned by the critics here in Aus.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
