A few weeks ago a friend had a couple bottles of Absinthe. eek THAT was an unusual feeling. I got silly as usual but then numb, really numb.Couldn't feel my feet or hands.Everything was all gray around the edges.Still silly but very comfortable at the same time. Strange strange experience. I'd do it again. biggrin

A few months ago we drove up to Vancouver, and while we were there, we had some absinth, as it's been legalized in British Columbia. Overall, it felt like, well, alcohol. But there was a certain... clarity?... to my thinking instead of the usual feeling of my brain getting cloudy. This "secondary effect" -- which other people report experiencing -- was subtle, but noticeable.

nod I was the same way. I was drunk enough to be silly, but my mind was still clear enough to analyze everything that was going on. That's why it was strange to feel numb but alert.I really had trouble feeling things,It's like your body gets drunker than your mind.
Since then I've tried Absente, the brand that's legal here, it takes a little more, but it really gave the same effects.

I had some when I was in Vancouver last as well, and while I don't remember the sense of clarity, I did notice a mild secondary effect, including some interesting visual effect. It was cool.

When I'm drunk, the stupidest things/topics/whatever become worm holes, that I get sucked into and start rambling on about.

Did you go to the Fountainhead Pub?

Anyway, sounds like a good time... glad you got a chance to try it. What was the visual effect like? Tracers? Color changes? Depth perception distortions? Something else?

the last time i got really drunk was on my Birthday.
I was in the pub at 2pm and stayed until shutting time at midnight.
I cant recall much about it but my friends said i was a very happy drunk (it was them who got me into that state).
Usually when im tipsy i love a good laugh.there are people where i go for a drink that turn quite nasty with a drink, these people shouldnt ever drink.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Nah, I forget the name of the place, but that wasn't it.

It was a good time. Next time, I'll drink more. lol

As best I can describe the visual thing, it was like visual details that would not usually seem that prominent stood out. The outlines of random things, random colors. . . nothing was really altered (and no tracers or anything), it was just like the things I was noticing were different. Things "popped". And I'd say colored lights were slightly more interesting/prominent. Kinda cool.

And I thought it was fairly yummy. Sort of like alcoholic herbal (licorice, chammomile, maybe rose hips. . . ) tea.
