It's that Org time again! Show off your hometown!:
Toronto is a global city, exerting significant regional, national, and international influence, and is one of the world's most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities. Toronto was voted the world's most livable city in 1994 by The Economist. It was displaced in 2005 by Vancouver, but is still ranked among the top ten.
With a population of 2,481,494, it is the most populous city in Canada and the fifth most populous in North America (after Mexico City, New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago). The city is the centre of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), a regional conurbation, and the much larger Golden Horseshoe, a densely populated region in Ontario which is home to over eight million people. The population of the Toronto Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) is estimated at 5,304,100 in 2005. One of my favorite pics of part of downtown. My street is the third one running west from the bottom left of the photo (if the picture extended only about a block west, you could see my pad): This (new opera house) is about to open down the street from me: SkyDome with roof open, glowing on the left: New City Hall (not so new anymore) in the background: Skating rink at New City Hall: Old City Hall (directly adjacent to New City Hall, now a courthouse that was used for some exteriors for the movie Chicago): One of the beaches in the fall: View from one of the islands: One of the tracks at the Bloor-Yonge subway station: Department store @ Xmastime: Part of the Royal Ontario Museum: Part of Casa Loma (big, honkin' castle in the middle of the city): [Edited 6/8/06 11:01am]

I'm dying to visit your city. My best friend traveled there a couple of years ago and said that she loved it. She wants me to go with her 'cause she thinks I will also fall in love with it.

My prom was there (although we spent precious little time at the actual do). who is the guy standing next to Tim Burton? I dont recognise him.
That's Johnny Depp's gay lover, Horace. Johnny's so comfortable in the T-dot that he parties openly with the man he likes to call "Daddy". It's common knowledge in T.O. that Vanessa's just his beard. Get working on those London pics, LL!

Prince's house (I couldn't figure out how to blur the house number or street sign, but I know you guys wouldn't do anything crazy):

No streetcar tracks, they're what we call Light Rail tracks. Our transportation service is really good. It takes people in and out of Silicon Valley with ease. I moved here when I was 4. I was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Wow, I've been here 36 years or so. It's a nice place to live. It gets kind of boring here so I always go to San Francisco, it's only 40 miles north. I live in a village called Chiddingfold. It's small and very boring, but it is quaint.
In fact, you can see my house on this photo, but I'm not letting any of you know where I live. You're all freaks.

Thought these were more interesting than the usual pics of London, anyhow, I didnt see it but I would have loved to:
Crowds join 'elephant' spectacle Crowds have flocked to Trafalgar Square to watch the fairytale of the Sultan's Elephant on day three of a four-day street theatre spectacle. Londoners brushed cynicism aside to see the story play out between a mechanical elephant, the height of a three-storey house, and a huge puppet girl. As the odd couple paraded through London, the elephant chomped on leaves to the delight of children and adults. Several roads were closed and visitors were advised to take public transport. The show began on Thursday morning with the appearance of a crashed spaceship - out of which the 5m (16ft) tall mechanical girl emerged - in Waterloo Place, off Pall Mall. Jules Verne inspiration The girl puppet spent last night asleep in a giant deckchair in Horse Guard's Parade, with passers-by able to hearing her snoring. When she awoke, the 42-tonne giant elephant, made of hundreds of moving parts, showered her in water before she changed out of her nightie and into a green dress. They then paraded through the streets of London and spent the afternoon dozing in Trafalgar Square watched by thousands of people despite the rain. By 1815 BST they are due back at Horse Guard's Parade for bedtime music before falling asleep at 2000 BST. The project is the brainchild of one of France's leading street arts company, Royal de Luxe. The Sultan's Elephant has been four years in the planning and is said to be inspired by the stories of Jules Verne, author of Around the World in 80 Days. The event is being funded mainly by Arts Council England and the London Development Agency. Police advised motorists not to use the routes around Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly and Regent Street over the weekend and expect some closures in The Mall and Horse Guard's Road. more pics here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/h...977870.stm ...

This is the most famous thing in the city I live in
Here is the wonderful freeway that stretches the entire length of my city and connects the biggest freeways in southern california: They are finally adding lanes to this puny freeway Some dude standing at the corner of Choisser and Twintree: Pretty typical of the type of house/neighborhood where I live. One of the local Camper parks: Oh my Gosh!!!! I didn't know Google would pick this up but here is the sign for the restaurant that my grandparents used to take us when we were young and the restaurant we had our family lunch the day of my cousins funeral Very comforting for me on that day. The Elks lodge where I play Bingo We are the former home of Congressman Bob Dornan, who is one of the most hateful vile homophobic racist assholes ever to help lead this nation. He was often compared to Jesse Helms: He was replaced by Loretta Sanchez!!!!! That racist asshole challenged the vote 3 times and lost 3 times. Got to the point where the judge wouldn't even entertain another challenge Must have been quite a blow that he got ousted by a Mexican woman 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Here is my city circa 1919 Rainbow Park This was the coolest amusement park ever!!! The Pike, BABY! And this is what it looks like now. And this last horrid picture is of the new "Pike of Long Beach." It has a display of the old Cyclone rollercoaster that sat over the water. It sucks. The only thing they have there is a ferris wheel. Makes me cry when I think about it. We had our own version of Coney Island and they tore it down.
