Rooney trained this morning with the rest of the squad.

I think it has been a publicity stunt hmph!

Glad to finally have that press bulklshit over and done with so we can concentrate on Saturday!

Nasty break for Cisse yesterday too, big blow for France.

fantastic press conference with eriksson a short while ago:

It's clear that Man U don't want Rooney to play at all. Their statement is full of caveats about "possibly in the group stages, but only after serious look at whether that's sensible" blah blah

Fast forward to today's press conference, where Sven had obviously had enough.

I will listen to others, but the decision about when to play Rooney is down to Us - Rooney and Me. He is "injury free" and it's all about match fitness ONLY now.i.e. a big FUCK YOU to Fergie.

Who has said openly that he wants England to fail. So the red-faced old wanker can suck on it. biggrin

woot!

Ooooooh, get yer handbags out lads! I think it is the FA that have ultimate power anyway, regardless of what Fergie thinks. He is even on holiday for fucks sake, thats how much he really cares about his star investment!
Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

On the whole the FA do hold all the cards, although if a club wishes to kick up a fuss on the grounds that the player in question is too injured to be played, then they can. Which would drag the whole thing horribly down into red-tape that no-one has time for or cares about.

More to the point, it would be a terrific PR fuck-up were Man U to use that FIFA process I've just mentioned.

So for all practical purposes, yes, the FA do hold the power really.

He had horrific breaks to his other leg during the season before last too sad

Added to the fact that he's gonna miss the biggest single sports tournament in the world is SO unlucky.

Get well soon, son.

He recovered quickly from that break - let's hope he does this time too, & i join your best wishes for the guy. sad

Fantastic striker - on his day, right up there with the best.

His positioning and tracking-back sometimes aren't quite as world-class. lol

Still, France have still got 3 world-class strikers fully fit.

Definitely echo your sentiments to Cisse's recover. Credit to the fast acting staff and medical team at Liverpool in "saving his career" from injury with that horrific multiple break. I remember seeing Dave Busst for Coventry having a similar injury to that of Cisse. Unfortunately that ended his playing days sad
Schiemchel (sp?) threw up on the sidelines seeing the aftermath of that smash.

Oh aye, not to seem mean or anything to the lad but I do appreciate the job hhe's done for us at Liverpool butI still wouldn't put him in the world class bracket. Not even on his day. Still not proven for me wink

What's your team, Omadon? cool

I'm the opposite - I think he's a world class striker who hasn't really done his job at liverpool. lol

My team at the moment is England. And that's all I'm saying on the matter. lurking

I think you are being a bit harsh on Fergie. He only wants what's best for Rooney and England.

I like Cisse and have always wanted so much for him to do better, but he just hasn't done it for Liverpool. I must confess my first thought when I heard about the fracture was 'Oh crap, who's going to buy him now?' lol

It's a tough break, so to speak, for him though. Missing a World Cup (esp. since he wasn't really involved last time) and having another awful long-term injury.

Did you notice his reaction upon looking at his FA Cup winners medal? falloff He's always scowling or something on the pitch, it cracks me up.
