Big day today excited

Round 2 over and really only Spain and Argentina looking on form. These last 16 matches should bring out some great performances as teams struggle for table positions and avoid a Second round nightmare match!

England V's Germany hmmm

There are some tight squeezes going into the next round and the BBC website has a rather confusing clarification of all the permutations that could arise this week. Of particular note is that USA, with 1 point, at the bottom of group E can still go through if they beat Ghana on Thursday and with an Italy/Czech uber-battle going on at the top of E anything is possible!

You can create any number of ridiclus score lines to see if you can force your team through on the "goals against last ditch clinnging on for dear life to the second round rule" rule.

Omadon

England to beat Sweden tonight.

2-0

Owen to score first.

Ladbrokes will give you odds of 30-1 for that as a multiple.

So £10 nets you £310. wink

shhh heard it here first.

England just cant beat Sweden. lol
The English were lucky though, we totally dominated the second half and should have won the match.
Watch out Germany, dont make the mistake of underestimating us cool

What was that last goal from Sweden!! Sven took a bung, Ashley Cole was arse tonight. Our defence (debatably the best in the world) was all over the place!!

We would get creamed by any team worthy of the last 16.

However, first half - we was on fire!!!

Still excited

mad

Seriously, if you play like that against Germany the hosts could be making a swift exit.

Cant wait till that game. The German newspapers has been laughing at the swedish squad which is perfect for us. The Swedish team always plays best when we're underdogs.

That second goal almost went in entirely untouched from a throw-in - can you actually score when you've just thrown a ball into the net? Hmmmm...

Christ, Owen's probably out and not playing well even if he is due to lack of games, Crouch has only one skill - being tall, Wallcott clearly isn't good enough as a striker otherwise Sven would have played him, and Rooney hasn't played enough games to be sharp yet - geez, our attacking options are crap. Thank god for Joe Cole, he's been playing some blinders recently.

Got to hand it to Sweden, their crosses into the are were fantastic and better than Beckham's for us. Didn't help our defense panicked. Quite what the point is of booting it upfield where non of our players are just so it comes straight back, I don't know, if I was manager I'd insist on 2 players staying up and have confidence the other 9 men can defend well enough - they just get in each other's way in the penalty area anyway.

I can see England beating Ecuador - just, but can't see them going further than that.
