I take all that back. Ive just checked the BBC Predictor and if England win our group and argentina win their group we cant meet until the final! We would play Holland in the quarters! If Germany win their group too then we would meet Ecuador in the next round, holland in the quarters and, if Brazil win their group, Brazil in the semis... The English dreaming away as always. Hyping their team beyond all reason, and already talking about a possible final against Argentina, WTF? Btw, Sweden is gonna destroy England on Tuesday,as we always do against your overrated team, and win the group. Stockholm i mitt hjärta..

It fills me with joy to see how he mananges to make a 'small' soccer team (as in: Australia is not exactly know as a soccer-nation) perform well in a big tournement. Also, it's great to watch him getting all excited along the lines about the performances of the 'Soccaroos'! We got lucky when we hired him. We've always had the big game players...it was just needing someone to make it all gel together. Seems to be working so far.

Argentina are rampant. This is truly a statement of intent. That second goal particularly, is that of a cup-winning team. That second goal was one of the best team goals I have ever seen. Awesome skill!!! When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

England has not won against Sweden since 1968, you cannot beat us And Sweden had alot more chances than England against T&T, you played a horrible game, so dig Sweden though. Sweden and England are the teams that should go through from this group T&T, has no place in the second round. Stockholm i mitt hjärta..

We should of won 2-1 Bitxches!@! But in all fairness. There were about four or more good kicks on goal, that we could have made. I'm proud of this match though. To the Italian! Right back at cha!

on a slightly different note - i was wondering what everybody thought...
what if a country that didn't like soccer nearly as much as the rest of the world (oh, i don't know, for argument's sake, let's say the US ) were to win the World Cup... would that be a bad thing, since there has been so little support for the sport on a professional level, or a good thing, seeing that it would bring attention to this great sport?

Interesting question, but it's just so far removed from even the outskirts of the realms of possibility that to entertain it and respond to it with anything other than a facetious, albeit well articulated, post, would be a misappropriation of both my time and my computer's pathetic 96 megabytes of random access memory as it struggles to load the 37 separate postings of that picture of a football fan smashing a chair on the ground.

(july).... but i don't want the US to win the world cup. i don't think the country is ready for it. football/soccer is growing in popularity, but honestly, if the US team won the world cup the general consensus would be "so what?". besides which i don't think that's gonna happen anyway

Beckham wants to end career in US http://news.bbc.co.uk/spo...898130.stm "I want to be part of a country that is passionate about sport." David Beckham. England captain David Beckham says he would like to end his career playing in Major League Soccer in the US. Beckham, who still has one year to run on his contract at Real Madrid, wants to spend three more seasons in Spain and perhaps move to America in 2009. "At some stage, playing in America is possible," said the 30-year-old, who recently opened football academies in his native London and also Los Angeles. "For me, America's so passionate and I'd like to be a part of that." Beckham's three-year stay at Real has yet to yield any significant silverware, but the former Manchester United star could be on the verge of signing a new deal at the Bernabeu. "I've one year left at Real, and maybe two more after that, but things can change in football and the American league does interest me," added Beckham in an interview with ESPN. "I want to be part of a country that is passionate about sport. I've got my academy in LA which is important to me because that is my life after the game. "America for me is one of the most passionate places. There is an incredible feeling around the country. [Edited 6/18/06 0:52am]

Beckham Reveals American Dream http://www.soccer.com/blo...dream.blog (Goal.com) - England captain David Beckham has reiterated his interest in playing in the United States. The Real Madrid star revealed during England’s tour of the U.S. last summer that a move could come to fruition at the end of his time in Spain. "At some stage, playing in America is possible," he told the BBC, reiterating what he said during England's tour of America last summer. "I've one year left at Real, and maybe two more after that, but things can change in football and the American league does interest me. I want to be part of a country that is passionate about sport. "I've got my academy in LA which is important to me, because that is my life after the game." The second David Beckham Academy just opened in the Los Angeles area last month. Earlier this year, Goal.com ran a feature on the Academy. [Edited 6/18/06 0:53am]
