All this tomfoolery and we are moving away from that fact that England and Germany are through to the second round and might end up playing each other!!

If Equador give the Germans a good old leiderhousens-round-the-ankles style thrashing and the English can keep the Swedes at bay.

England V Germany at this early stage has me dribbling into a bowl of saurkraut and bratwurst!

excited
Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

3-0.

Argentina are rampant.

This is truly a statement of intent. That second goal particularly, is that of a cup-winning team.

Not sure why it's particularly funny that a country should sing its own national anthem, but there you go. wacky wink

It was a bit embarassing because of the play that was shown, they were playing Trinidad.....remember?

Omadon said:

Anyway, you obviously were watching a different game with that 'two passes' nonsense.

I was talking about Beckham, and yes, his play was awful but he did give two great passes.....Beckham was/is a hype.....

If anything, it's in passages of poor play when fans need to rouse their team. Or are you making a comment on former colonial ties?

Of course he is a hype - he's the most marketable footballer in the world!

But even now, the highest number of assists in the Spanish La Liga? David Beckham. lol

You seem hugely bitter - need a cuddle?

Just awesome. And that second goal was insultingly, uncomfortably, unacceptably good.

Who the FUCK do they think they are? lol

I hope this is not a foreshadowing for the United States against Italy, but then again, even a 1-0 loss will be it for good ol' USA. flag

wink I want the Dutch to do well in this tournament, simply because at times they play the most beautiful football.

I'm not sure if Van Basten's the right coach. And I'm not convinced that Van Nistelroy is sharp. He looked a bit out-of-sorts in the last game.

Having said that, I feel for Ivory Coast. They played so well against Argentina at times. And had them on the back foot at the end. I really would like them to go through (they should have been in Spain's group, who have it far too easy) to the next round - otherwise the chances are that no African team will be represented!

That would be a shame. sad

I agree. Would be nice for the Africans to get through, but selfishly i would like the dutch to win this group so that england dont have to face argentina in the quarter finals... unfortunately, the dutch have to win this game AND beat argentina in order for that to happen...

I take all that back. Ive just checked the BBC Predictor and if England win our group and argentina win their group we cant meet until the final! woot!

We would play Holland in the quarters!

If Germany win their group too then we would meet Ecuador in the next round, holland in the quarters and, if Brazil win their group, Brazil in the semis...
