Yay! It's here... woot!

It's a beautiful sunny day, it's quiet in work and the weekend is ahead... dancing jig

Going out for a few drinks tonight with some old pals. Tomorrow, chill and going to a party in the night. Sunday, chill and either going to see a play or a comedian in the night. Not sure yet.

falloff

At one of my friends wedding, his best friend played a recording of (my friend) signing a bunch of songs with his awful awful voice. It was a recording made one night while we were all drunk and singing Kareoke into someone's entertainment system--he had no clue he was being recorded.
The problem is that the dude did a sloppy job of editing, so about 2 minutes into a hilarious rendition of Counting Crow's "Round Here", my friend puased and yell at his audience saying "Shut up or I'll rape you!" falloff
The family on the brides side was mortified. falloff

Anyways, I've never had to do a best man speech, thank god, becuase my friends are all manwhores and I'd feel so bad speaking about their virtues. lol

You'll be fine, I know it. You're a funny guy. And good at public speaking, I imagine. nod

That was part of my problem. My best mate was marrying a Russian girl. So it was mainly his family - and people I'd never met before - plus about 3 members of her non-English speaking family. So - apart from the fact I was nervous about making a speech in the first place; and I hate public speaking - everything had to be translated into Russsian for their benefit. nuts shake It was like the Eurovision Song Contest or something. lol By the end of it, I just wanted to start divorce proceedings. giggle

Plus, my mate's Dad is a bit of a social animal so - every 5 minutes - he kept taking me aside and springing 'surprise' guests on the couple. That I had no idea about but still had to announce. Oh, and there was the uncle who was a Member of Parliament and, naturally, thought everything he had to say was important. rolleyes So he constantly interrupted everyone. He's dead now. neutral

lol

But the reality of it is that I was very young, very disorganised redface and, consequently, more bloody nervous than the people getting married! lol I'm sure you won't have any of these issues.

You'll do okay. nod Most people will realise you're under a little bit of pressure so they'll be behind you all the way. Plus, your friend must've known you'll be able to do this by choosing you in the first place. And I would definitely recommend a brandy or something to start you off. smile

Good Luck and have a fantastic day. hug

i'm confused, because it's Saturday morning where I am.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
