Actually, ZK, some of our higher-quality grocers do have all-peanut butter aisles. And, generally, toward one end of the aisle, you'll find spray celery, too.

But only in the most discriminating of boutique shops.

If any of you guys stepped into an Australian supermarket I swear you will break down in sobs bawl

This last part is true.

My GF thinks our "presentation" and selection pales in comparison to the US. And it surely does, it's hard to disagree when you enter a US megamarket with every kind of shit at your disposal. While what you're saying is an exaggeration, it really isn't far from the truth. But there are benefits to Australia generally being a less materialistic society, my GF and I both agree.

We really need to start making Reese's Pieces and SOME kind of Root Beer here though! drool

yeah exactly, and usually the one or two brands are good, while in the US there can be a lot of crap to wade through before you find quality.

in that case you might hate most american retail.

smile

i have to say, even with all the endless crap, i miss it. a lot of selection can be nice... i sometimes get frustrated with australian stores now. in particular i can't find a decent video store... and borders are always understocked.... everything here is more commercial, middle of the road... rare to find anything different in a style you haven't seen a billion times. but maybe i'm exagerrating, too. i guess you can find that stuff if you go into the city, etc.

you can with a credit card, but not with the pre-paid cards from the supermarket, which I bought without realising how small the selection is sad

hmmm It doesn't make much sense to me. The Internet should improve your selection. Why have different Itunes stores? There should be one with everything.

i think you can, the thing is that Australia SHOULD have stores that are well stocked but it's often not the case... i don't like to complain about my country though because we have it good here in so many ways and it does save you from horrible things like credit card debt a lot of the time.. commercially i think there can be a fair bit of mediocrity here in comparison to the US, but hey, it's a smaller country and people are generally happier here supposedly ...perhaps it has something to do with less is more. i always thought all that STUFF quite literally weighed people down over in the US... but you know what, i get sick of comparing nations (there's good things and bad about all) so i'ma gonna shut up now!

Well, yes, the first order is heavily discounted. I lopped off more than half the retail price. Because I discern that you're a shopper who knows quality.
