Speaking of crunchy tacos, does anybody like a taco salad when they put the ingredients in one of those crunchy shells? I love it, the shell is the best part of the whole salad. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I prefer the ghetto tacos with the soft shell and ketchup instead of taco sauce! But if I have to I will suffer through a crunchy one from Taco Bell! Wanted: Virtual Sugar Daddy to help me buy stuff on Farmville and move up the ranks. Use of Viagra not authorized. Get your two minutes and go!

Especially when my mom is too lazy to drain the grease out and it oozes down your arm! My mom would put tabasco with it sometimes. And of course the sliced cheese when times were rough. Cheddar was when we had company! Wanted: Virtual Sugar Daddy to help me buy stuff on Farmville and move up the ranks. Use of Viagra not authorized. Get your two minutes and go!

Cheddar was when we had company! my mom always had a big chunk of colby cheese that she bought religiously - the stuff that was packaged in WAX. i think she still buys it, though i've never been able to find it at any grocery store in my neighborhood. we came into some kind of government cheese windfall in the early '80s...i think my grandma was dealing it or something. ya know, that stuff was GOOD. we only used cheese slices for grilled cheese or cold sandwiches, and we treated it like a luxury...funny your family used cheese slices when times were rough. i never thought i'd be up talking about CHEESE tonight.

Ex-Moderator | If I'm eating at Pepito's (local mexican place), then hard shell. Anywhere else in the world, and it's soft. |

Soft tacos do not exist.

I don't really like Tacos all that much. If I go to Taco Bill I have the Beef Combinacion, which has everything on it

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU PUT IN A VEGETARIAN BURRITO THAT YOU DON'T PUT IN A VEGETARIAN TACO?!?!? You don't put lettuce in a burrito! Alright, for you, Mel!ssa. I'm no expert, but after dining with Darin (being that he lives off of mexican food) for years I have figured a few things out: Soft shell tacos use smaller tortillas and are left open. Burritos are generally larger and are all closed and rolled up. In tacos, you'll throw everything on the inside (meat and/or beans, salsa, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, what have you...), whereas for burritos, the fresh veggies will generally come on the side. Only the meat or beans, grilled veggies (if its a veggie burrito) and possibly cheese or rice will be on the inside. And you'll generally serve a side of lettuce and salsa and other goodies to load on the top. Also - no one ever puts rice in a taco. But it comes in some fast food burritos, though rarely in any burritos in an actual Mexican restaurant. I think that should clear things up. PS - It really does make a difference in texture and tastes. |

It's all warm and steamy inside. And then you can put the cripsy veggies and sour cream and all that on top. And it the combo of the different temperatures is awesome. Whereas a taco is more like a luke warm sandwich. And everything's kinda cold. |
