When you're feeling better, it might not be a bad idea to call an attorney (many of them give free consultations) and just find out if there is anything you can do. At least, that way, you know what your options are and you won't regret any decisions you end up making.

quick update, this bright light from the computer screen is kickin my ass !


its day 8, i am still taking the pain pills, but now i am down to about 3 a day.....


i still have times when this wakes me up at night.


i was told that this should have been over by now with full sight restored and pain definately gone....


i cannot see anything out of my eye other than bright images or large objects, on my last vision test which was yesterday, i could barely make out the third line on the chart and that was after a good 4 or 5 minutes of trying to focus


i made an appointmen with a specialist in kansas city (about 45 minutes away) but i did not feel safe driving that distance alone, i have not yet been able to drive and my mom is gone now, she had to go back home.... so i cancelled the appointment.


however, this morning, i got up and made an appointment with another eye doctor who is totally not involved with this situation - the other one was one that my surgeon sent me too. i want another opinion as to what kinda damage has been done to my eye. this appointment is right down the street from me.


im really a total bitch nowdays... i am SICK of this shit, they changed eye patches on me the last time because when they did the exam, the doctor said my cornea looked like cracked glass which was why i couldnt see out of it and thought that the patch was too tight and that what she was seeing was from an imprint of the gauze on the underside of the patch. whatever, now the one i have is taped to my face (the other was like an elastic band around my head). this one is making me more uncofortable because somehow it makes me feel 'trapped' in here. i dont know how to explain it. anyway, i have been short with everyone, i seem to be no fun to be around anymore i guess this will pass when this heals, who knows.



i hope everyone is well here, theres no way i can read all these threads so i dont know of anything thats going on with anyone - i trust you all are well

i went in for surgery on the HS skin disease that i had spoke about awhile back.. the area that they were trying to fix was under my right arm.








i saw a different eye doctor yesterday, he told me that i am having reoccuring corneal abrasions now, meaning, thats why its still hurting, and thats why it hasnt healed yet. the recovery time once you start with the reoccuring thing can be as long as a month or more, lord i hope that isnt time i have to spend in this patch.... but we are hoping that we can get away with all of this without infection setting in, that would put us in line (worst case) for a cornea transplant or permanent vision loss whether that be total or partial.


im still hoping for the best...

update,

the pain has been gone now for two full days...well, the stabbing pain anyway. now it feels like i have soap or something in there, its just more of a burning sensation at this point.

i took the patch off this morning, just to see if after having it off for awhile would make the eye act right now what i have is vision of 'things'. hard to explain, but, i can see items around me, but they are all very blury. as far as reading out of that eye, thats a no go at this point, but im still trying...


when im writing this, i look only out of my good eye or else i end up with all the lines blurring to the point that i cant even see which line im typing on.


we have a few things that could happen here.... one, the vision will restore itself within a few days of pain going away. two, the vision will be like this from now on - which is totally unacceptable and i would need to have glasses to restore the correct vision, or there is a cornea transplant if the cornea was damaged to much for it to heal back to normal.

we need to give it more time and see if anymore episodes of the 'reoccuring abrasions' happens... so far, so good, but that can happen even years from now due to this injury.

i read that in short of having an object put 'into' the eye... like a pencil, a knife, a piece of metal - something like that.... the worst way to hurt the cornea is with any kind of adhesive product, which would be the tape.

its going to take time im sure, im working on it.... thats the best i can say for now...

i still cant see right though no details out of that eye at all. my 'good' eye gets tired a lot i think, and that gives me headaches. the patch is still on because when i take it off, the difference of vision between the eyes makes me sick to my stomach and dizzy, i just cant get the damn thing to focus. i tried a few days ago to leave the patch off for a few hours, thinking maybe it was because i hadnt used it in so long.... ended up not seeing any better, headache was horrible, and my eye actually was starting to hurt .... so, i put the damn thing back on

i'll let the doctor figure it out.

just returned from the eye doctor's appointment today, it is very concerning to both of us why my vision is not comming back... he did an even MORE intense exam, and said he would see me in two days, if the vision is not better by then, he's convinced that its in the retina area...and i would need to see a specialist at that point... if this is the case, it may not be something they can fix....



im not in pain now, but, im very sad with this news... lots of prayers guys, i need my eye back...
