Im getting about a bit Im going to go travelling from October to June. I'll be flying from London to Delhi and spending about a month in northern India. From there, we'll be flying to Hong Kong, spending a couple of days there and then moving on to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. It's then back to Bangkok and then on to Singapore for 2 days or so.
Phase 2 From Singapore we are then flying to Perth. We plan on taking the Indian Pacific which will be amazing to Sydney. We plan to spend a week there and then fly out to Auckland for another week/ Phase 3 From Auckland we are flying to Santiago, Chile for a few days. From Chile we moving up to Brazil in time for the carnival which should again be mind blowing. We then plan to go to Sao Paolo and see the Iguassú Falls. From there it's down to Buenos Aries, Argentina and then on to Lima, Peru to go along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We then plan to go up to Venuzuela to see the Angels Falls. ...then home. Exciting eh? Im really looking forward to it. Has anyone done similar. Any recommendations?

Ex-Moderator | I'm utterly jealous, JD.
It's the opportunity of a lifetime. I'm glad you're doing this for yourself. |

Hong Kong - great, espeically at night. One of the prettiest cities I've ever seen.
Bangkok - great, but take the train to Ayuttaya for a day. Well worth it. Stop by the Ministry of Sound at night in Bangkok, and of course all the sites near Sukhumvit Road during the day time. Cambodia--I'm indifferent to it, but the drugs are cheap, and the snorking is to die for. Singapore is nice, but not compaired to Hong Kong. Don't know anything about the other places, and not very fond of visiting them actually, other than Rio. I'll actually be in Thailand early next year for a time then hopefully Japan. I've always like the east more so than America or Europe, and haven't been to South America so I can't really judge that. I'm hoping to fly in through hong kong and stay over if it proves economical. Otherwise, I'll go through the Philipines and have no interest to stop there.

WOW. WOW. Fantastic, JD! May I be incredibly rude and inquire on how much it's costing your ass? Who are you going with? I am especially fond of the South American portion! The guy that sits next to me here just got back from Cambodia and it was exhausting just hearing about his month-long trip there. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

You lucky thing. So want to return to India. Once you get away from the nightmare cities you will be treated like royalty! As equality grows, violence declines.
