I can relate, Maddie... Seems like the essay should be easy, but you rarely have to articulate your own reasoning to yourself. It's definitely the hardest part! And the org makes it tougher! 
1) Get the heck OFF of the org! 2) Whip together an outline first, charting exactly the points they request. Then flesh it out. 3) Set a really cool reward for yourself... like a trip somewhere -- but absolutely REFUSE to take that trip unless you finish your application. 4) Think of all the helpless people that NEED you to get going in your ministry! Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!! Dude! You just need to to cut and paste you consciousness tune-up threads from P&R! 
Seriously, my advice would be to make this into a metaphor. Talk about it like a real physical journey, the difficulty of travel, the hardship etc. Use the word "terrain" a lot and talk about brambles and shit. 
Be sure to say that the journey is more important than the goal (or as important  ) nd you're in like Flynne!

moderatorI know how you feel. I had a job app with a supplemental questionnaire due today by 4:30. I found out about on Saturday! I stayed up until 4 last night working on it/orging. Then I worked on it today for another 4 hours. It's so hard to be fucking disciplined!  I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

PHEW!!!! I finished the damn application. Hand delivered it to the school today.
My application essay is entitled: Madonna, Prince & The Holy Ghost: A Gay Man's Journey to Jesus.
