I have been thinking about this, around and around in my brain all day.

I already walk a lot, I already read a lot, I am already very creative in my work. I thought to myself if money was no object I would like to:
learn web page design, buy a digital SLR and take a refresher course in photography, buy a new computer and learn how to edit movies.

I think these are things I could get very excited about.

You Should Learn French

C'est super! You appreciate the finer things in life... wine, art, cheese, love affairs.
You are definitely a Parisian at heart. You just need your tongue to catch up...

Hey, I'm a one-idea guy. sad

Took me absolutely ages to come up with 'martial art'. I had to research in the local library, talk to people. You wouldn't believe the effort I went to.

Hi Charlotte, sorry to hear your feeling down at the moment. sad I'm not sure what to suggest, sorry - I think Byron had the closest to what I'd suggest.

Are you and your husband able to get a weekend away together? Maybe you could both do with some time out together, no kids? hug

Or maybe you could arrange a dinner party? Get the kids off to the grandparents', invite some old friends over - maybe some you haven't seen in a long time? Get that wine out!

Sorry, I don't have kids but I can imagine your time is precious. nod hug

I am not feeling down though! hug I want a way to differetiate my days! At the moment I am doing the same thing day in day out, which basically is: minding the kids whilst my husband pursues his career and music. I want something to be excited about too! not just something to pass the time (which goes past amazingly fast as it is, precious little of it as it seems).

I am planning the night away - it will be in August, which gives you an idea how hard doing this is with 3 boys nobody is prepared to mind all at once!

My husband is not home 3-4 nights a week. He likes the kids a lot because he rarely sees them, I would like the opportunity to miss the kids!!

sigh

Write a story. It's a good way to escape and you can control what happens to the characters. Doesn't have to be for anyone but yourself. Once you get into it, you won't want to stop.

There was that idea in the film Amelie where she goes round "helping" other people. Risky, but you could try...
