I was attendin' Spring Break in Daytona. At a Miss Hawaiian Tropic, I climb on a picnic table to get a better view of the contestants. A frisbee came flying by & got me in the eye. As I crouched down in pain, I heard a fatherly voice with a British slang asking me if I was alright. Immediately, I assumed that I was slain & it was God's voice talking to me. When my eyes finally were able to look up & to pay homage to the Creator, it turned out it wasn't God after all, but another diety altogether... Benny Hill (this, obviously, was before his passing). Did you chase him around the place to a funny tune?

geting the call to work for Prince. and then meeting him. i think the call was more exciting because it was unexpected and then left me full of anticipation. but the whole 2 week experience was pretty fucking exciting. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

I applied to 4 graduate schools (NYU, Columbia, University of Chicago & UIC--safety school). I got into both Chicago schools, but rejected by NYU. I hadn't heard from Columbia, but presumed I wouldn't get in because I didn't get into NYU and Columbia has a better contemporary Art History program than NYU. (Plus Columbia is Ivy League and I didn't realize that when I applied--I'm a little spacey sometimes. ) So, I had mentally resigned myself to going to the University of Chicago even though I had really wanted to leave Chicago at the time. Literally, on the day I came home from the University of Chicago's open house for newly accepted students I got my acceptance letter to Columbia University in the mail. It was early April, and it was snowing--a sure sign that hell had frozen over, since to this day, I have no other explanation as to how I got accepted. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

What could be more exciting? Same here....but the other person falling out of love with me was/still is a bitch! I have had many exciting experiences in my life, actually.....way too many to list! "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

Well, gettin married. I know it's corny, but I love my husband very much. I guess when he ask me to marry him was the most exciting... We went to Big Bend on a hiking trip, and he asked me at the Gage Hotel in Marathon, Texas. It might not sound like it, but it was very romantic.
Other exciting moments, I sort of made happen because I worked my butt off. It's kind of funny how in retrospect all the things that a person might work for end up not being as "exciting" once the goal is reached. Sometimes it's the journey that's the most fun and exciting. So I'm not so sure if some of my professional moments were exciting, but just more of a pay-off for all of my hard work. I sort of felt vindicated... (I'm not sure if that's even the right word. Maybe the more correct word is relieved.) But in matters of the heart... well... I was just very lucky and very excited. I repeat, I was just VERY lucky. Through no effort of my own, I won the lottery when I met my husband. I have no clue why I was so fortunate. [Edited 5/29/06 18:25pm]

getting accepted into my school's UK/I year study abroad program. it's an EXTREMELY difficult, competitive program to get into because most students want to live in London and it requires no language classes. I was one of the few.
same goes for getting accepted into my school's creative writing program, one of the best in the country. it has only a 1 in 3 acceptance rate and I was accepted as a sophomore (which is pretty much unheard of). I'm sure there will be more to come. I mean, like, where is the sun?
