a GREAT quote from Eve Ensler "... a poison, malignant self-hatred that runs through America - a deep current in the psyche & body of the country that tells us we are not good enough, thin enough, rich enough, young enough, famous enough, educated enough, pretty enough. A current that has poisoned & isolated Americans, kept us locked up in our homes & minds, robbed us of voice, of power, of connection."
This is from an article in "O Magazine" (forgive me but yes, I do allow Oprah's mag to be delivered to my house, LOL) about accepting & loving your body, especially women. I know there's nothing new here but I appreciated seeing all the little devilish thoughts encapsulated in this one quote. I know I certainly tell myself enough of these things daily (except the fame bullshit) So, who's happy w/ their body? Who's trying to be happier with their body as it is? Who thinks this is farty American pish posh? I'm working on both ends - to improve my body AND to love it for what it is, that it houses all the bullshit I bring into it every single day & it has yet to betray me (thank you, little body!). I think I'm seeking acceptance just by posting this shit but I thought it was interesting. Comment if you like

I'm doing both as well...working on my body (mainly because my weight goes up and down like a psychotic elevator, due to my weird work hours and doing so much work in front of a computer), while also trying to just accept that the chisled body of a 21 year old isn't in the cards for me anymore... I just want to look good for my age, and I'll be happy.

Chisle schmisle All a man needs is good shoulders Yeah, but then you get another woman saying "good arms"...and another saying "good butt"...yet another saying "not too big a stomach"...so it's like you gotta have everything looking good cuz you never know which part the woman you're interested in will be attracted to ...Elbows and earlobes are about the only safe areas. Fat, schmat - how are your shoulders? What about my shoulders? Not as scrawny as they used to be, still just a couple of months ago. But I'm a relatively big guy, so my shoulders are enough attractive in a positively mannish way, thank you for asking.
