To clear up the confusion, the Lightsabers that FI speaks of are the Hasbro produced, toy sabers. These are intended for play, and are made out of plastic. The blade collapses, and they make noise and light up. They retail for about $15. You can find these at all the major toy outlets, like Toys R Us, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.
The lightsabers MickG is referring to are the Force FX series, made by Master Replicas. They are highly detailed re-creations of the weapons from the film. The handle is metal and the blade a high quality plastic (it does not collapse). They light up, make sounds when swung, and have crashing effects when coming into contact with another solid object. They are not intended for play, but are still quite sturdy. You could probably do some light fighting, as long as you didn't get too carried away. They retail for about $130, and are available at Sharper Image, Best Buy and on the MR website. I got the Darth Vader saber for Father's Day last year, and I love it! It is truly an amazing collector's piece. The attention to detail is simply amazing! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
