Being honest really DOES pay off! I found someone's Palm Pilot in a chain retail type store near me. Instead of turning it into an employee (cause I know how retail works and more often than not an employee will end up keeping the "lost" item), I kept the Palm. I took it home and looked through it and didn't find anything about the owner, but I did gather he worked at the store I found it at.
I emailed someone in his address book (who turned out to be his boss) and to make a long story short, the rightful owner came by this morning and picked it up! AND he gave me a $25 gift certificate to the store!  I mean, like, where is the sun? | |
