I hope you find some sort of useful information from your doctors visits. I would imagine the not knowing is nearly as stressful as the illness itself. The heart monitor reminds me of the time my younger brother had to wear one. He was about 25 years old, and was having all kinds of odd heart symptoms. When he brought it back in, the doctor was very concerned, because the heartbeat was so off. He didn't know what to make of it and was sure something was amiss. He asked my brother if his sleeping habits had changed at all since he wore it. He told that doctor that his cat was being extra affectionate and was sleeping on top of his chest. The cat's vitals messed up the reading.

GangstaFam said: bkw said: That's very interesting. What actually started my anxiety problems was a genuine problem I had with my heart.
I was at work when suddenly, from out of nowhere, I felt extremely dizzy and lightheaded. I actually collapsed to the ground in a colleagues office and had to get immediate medical attention. My doctor hooked up and ECG and found my heart was racing and it had an odd "spike" in the beat. It was a type of arrythmia. That was on a Friday and I couldn't see a specialist until the Monday so I was bedridden all weekend and kleft to wollow in my fears (hence, the development of my anxiety ). When i saw the specialist on the Monday the problem had dissappeared and the beat was back to normal. I had a number ot tests that showed my heart was fine. It seems, amd the doctors dont really seem to know, but the initial episode of arrythmia was most likely due to a virus that effected my heart. The good news is that it has never re-occured, but the anxiety about my health remained with me. What was the eventual treatment for your anxiety? I was given counselling by my gp and was on medication for about 6 months (Efexor) which is an anti-depressant that is allegedly good for anxiety. The best form of treatment I found was from learning the warning signs and dealing with them. I wasn't aware beforehand how much I bottled up any stress I was feeling. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I really hope you feel better soon! I have been through almost the same experience (it happened a few months ago), had to go to the ER and everything and I was told it was apanic attack. Everything Supa is telling you is spot on right. The good news is, according to the doctors, you cannot die of a panic attack even though lord knows it sure as hell feels like you could when it's happening.
They have probably already told you, but you may want to avoid caffeine for a while (apparently it's really bad for the heart). I took some xanax to help with the stress, you may wanna try that too. I'll say a prayer for ya to get better soon so you can give us a great report on what "Dream Factory" sounds like live!

What was your experience like? I actually did get a prescription for Xanax, but it was only for a few pills. I want a whole bottle of that shit with refills!

Feel well soon.

And thanks Ivy for the saint comment. I met with my new family doctor for the first time today and he was VERY thorough. He sat and talked with me for at least a half hour, trying to establish a history. I feel very comfortable with him and what he's trying to do for me, which is rare cuz I've grown quite skeptical of the medical traditional medicine. I turned in my heart monitor today, so I should know by early next week what the results are. If this persists for much longer, the recommendation is to next see a neurologist. I think with the number and variety of opinions, we're going to get this thing worked out.

I am way too late posting on this but FEEL BETTER SOON! I've had heartbeat irregularities at times and that alone makes me feel all wrong. I can't even begin to imagine how you've been feeling with all of those symptoms. I really hope that the doctors find something physical, viral sounds "good" to me.

was admitted to the ER. There are many tests being run with nothing conclusive yet. Please send prayers and all of your positive energy that the problems are diagnosed and resolved quickly. It was awful to see Nathan there ~ such an un~natural setting for this beautiful person. Thank you all for thinking of him ~ I'm sure he'll update everyone soon on his condition. Love you, Nathan. Count on it.
