Or that people cannot realize that scientific fact and religious beliefs can co-exist...

or that people insist that events described in the bible co-exist with scientific fact, such as fossil records and evolutionary theory biggrin

Isn't "in lieu of" appropriate depending on the context ? confuse

no, he meant "in view of" - he'd describe a product choice, and say something along the lines of "so in lieu of the kind of audience you're trying to reach, i recommend this!"

so i guess he did say "in lieu of" in lieu of "in view of... lol

i hate the rubbish health/cleaning benifits of the snake oil sales gimicks neutral

my dear friend who sat through the same science classes i did was telling me about the norwex microfibre cleaning cloths.
they are marketed as being able to magnetically pick up and hold dirt. my question is will it pick up a nail off the floor???
then it's not magnetic wall she was showing me how the cloth would stick to her hand even upside down.
i wanted to say it's amazing how a little handlotion will solve that problem smile

and i won't knock wearing copper braclets or magnets in your shoe... if it works for you - fine.
what i do have a problem with is when they say the $5 braclet from the drugstore is no good
the only one that will make all of your problems go away is the $50 braclet that *surprise* they are selling neutral

If I can quote Mr. Show:

David Cross: But I'm just the way God made me.

Woman: Then I reject God.

Some people pronounce my name 'Foxy' and interact with me here for 3 or 4 years in the belief that I'm a Thai ladyboy go-go dancer. disbelief

This girl I used to work with seriously thought the sun and the moon were the same object! lol I sat there in amazement and I asked her if she never saw the moon during the daytime. She said no. Then I asked how did she explain how it cooled down at night and turned to fire in the day. She said she never even thought about it.

WHAT!?! nuts
