Memorial Day Weekend! Soooo Memorial Day weekend is just about here, for us New Englander's it's time to open the pools have bbq's and get crunked!!
This weekend is a busy one for me...Friday I start my bartending job and I'm nervous as shit. Saturday morning I leave for New Hope, PA for a road trip with my boy toy and two friends. We'll party, go hiking and boating and of course snuggling.  Come back Monday and go to the BEACH!!! The weather is supposed to be sunny and 80 on Monday, nice change from the rain and 60's!
So what do ya'll have planned for the holiday weekend? | |

I hate Memorial Day weekend. My birthday is May 28 so it always coincides with the "first long weekend of summer." My friends always leave town with their S.O.s and I have no one to celebrate with. 
Four days of birthday boredom coming up starting on Friday.  The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. | |

Why not find other friends to hang out with?Well, I only know a handful of people in NYC and most of my close friends here are going to Fire Island with other friends of theirs (that I only know peripherally). One of my co-workers is taking me out for brunch, but it's kinda weird to celebrate one's birthday with co-workers.... Even when I lived in Chicago I had the same problem...people just want to leave town for the long weekend instead of celebrate someone else's bday. 
Last year I invited them to go roller skating at the Roxy the following week and only 3 people showed up. (Pathetic, huh?) My friends are kinda lame when it comes to follow through on things I invite them to do so I basically have given up asking... The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa.
