thanks Oprah--now my best friend's wife thinks we're sleeping together with all this brokeback mountain/oprah/Down Low stuff going on, my best friend at work's wife has insinuated that maybe something more than workplace friendship is going on Granted, we do have lunch together 3-4 times a week (when we work the same schedule), but other people are always welcome to join us (hell it's only, mcdonalds or wendy's)
her first comment was about 2 months ago and my buddy called his wife at home from my cell phone. i guess she asked who he was going to lunch with and he said me, so he gives me the phone and she says something to the effect of "i know you want my man, but you can't have him" so i'm like WTF ? my buddy said ignore it. the second time was this past weekend. my buddy went on a scheduled vacation, but had death in the family just prior to going on vacation and he missed a big inventory day at work. he called me the next day and told me why he was absent and i told him people at work concerned for him and passed on their condolences. i called him saturday evening just to get him up to speed on what to expect when he came back monday, and his wife answers the phone. i said hi to her and that i was just calling because everybody at work was concerned that our coworker was doing okay because of the sudden death. her response--"ii'm his wife--i got this covered over here" again i'm like WTF?. my coworker came back monday afternoon and he came and sought me out and i told him, as a friend, i was a little offended by his wife's insinuations. he just said that's how she is and don't take it personal. we'll have lunch this week, but i'm not calling his house ever again [Edited 5/24/06 4:45am] you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

mess with her mind and tell her you guys are going on a fishing trip , several hundred miles away.
She seems to have issues...or maybe it was just the stress from the death in the family, but she seems to be afriad/jelous of your friendship with her husband. Not necessarily on a homosexual level .

Not necessarily on a homosexual level . she was wigging out before the death. it just kinda irritates me that grown men can't be friends without a whole bunch of drama. we don't hang out/talk really unless we're at work you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

uh, no. Then it doesn't matter much what she thinks. She's just being crazy. Although 100% of married, straight men, will go both ways with their best friend if the opportunity presents itself. 100%

Jus' tell her that you don't need that kind of shit from her, especially after you & your friend spend all day breaking your backs at work.
Oh wait, that wouldn't help, now would it ....?

As long as you know what's up, don't worry about her.

I agree. My best friends ex-wife was the same way.She never really said anything, but I felt these crazy ass vibes from her whenever I would go over to there place.Like she was initiating some kind of competition between she and I. That was bugged. I stopped going around her. I think its says much more about her level of self confidence than anything else. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I told my boyfriend I want to visit a friend in either s.f. or l.a. this weekend and his first response is "are you planning on cheating on me?"
some people are just stupid. I mean, like, where is the sun?

She needs to checked... & don't blame Oprah, his wife is wacko for coming out the left w/ shit like that. Even if she's been burned before (he's cheated or is bi) she really shouldn't blurt that shit out to a coworker who's simply going to lunch w/ her husbands stankin' ass...

some people are just stupid. You should have said; "Well yes, actually. Of course I am going to another city to cheat on you, I had all the other men in THIS city." And then just smile angelically.

I attended a health festival at which he was the speaker. I was one of few straight, black men in the audience. By the end of his speech on his experience and book (replete with attacks on black fraternities), it was interesting to be black, straight and decidedly un-D.L. Sisters felt wounded by bad decisions made by brothers of that D.L. persuasion (and rightly so). But, I thought it was interesting, how suspicion for sleeping around had expanded to include closeted gay sex, too.
