Prepare to be ripped off, everything here is so fucking expensive, from public transport to food. And the rent here is even more extorsionate than in Tokyo.

You're gonna be flinging back to mommy and daddy before you can say "congestion charge"

Just out of curiosity, I checked out some rates for 2 bedroom flats in London. Saw some for 260 euros per month. Thats dirt cheap. These days even a completely decrepit mess will still cost $400.00 per month in the States.

Anything that price will quite frankly be a hole. A hole in somewhere like Peckham lol

Im not familiar w/Peckham, but for 260 bucks Im sure the flat is pretty hole-ish.

I had a quick look and I cant find anything for that much a month, a week yes, but not per month.

260 euros is about £178 per month, which sounds more like the amount you might pay per week for a two bedroom flat.

Try Gum Tree, its a great site!

Its in shepards Bush. Check the last paragraph of your post. Why does the org sometimes place a response in the same field as the original posters post? confuse Anyway, there you have it.

oh my god lol

I lived in south London (Denmark Hill, just past Camberwell, a stone's throw from Peckham and Brixton) and east London (Bethnal Green, close to Brick Lane).

Surprisingly, despite the reputations, I never had any problems. It was cheap. And my friends, who lived in central London (e.g. Russell Sq) were the ones who got mugged, harassed, followed, etc.

gumtree.com is excellent! thumbs up!
I mean, like, where is the sun?

For 260 euros per month you can't even get a cardboard box in London.

And as far as this thread goes, its title is just about perfect: "Help - I'm moving to London". Pretty much says it all.
