I think most people look for someone who's intellectual level is close to their own.
But I think men in general are more forgiving if a woman isn't as learned as he is. Particularly if she's aesthetically his ideal.
Of course, this doesn't follow for every man.

Perhaps it's just a certain type of man. I've never seen it in any of my friends or family.

Sadly, I've seen it in too many men. And men that I wouldn't have normally thought of in that way.

Most of the male philosophy students who I know personally at the University have arguably "stupider" girldfriends. They're not necessarily dumb, but if I'm being wholly critical about it, it sometimes seems like they don't want the woman to outdo them on IQ. With many of their girlfriends, I've found out that unfortunately you can't sustain a proper intellectual discussion. Of course, if you're an intelligent person yourself it may be hard to find someone on your own level, but something rings a bit hollow about the choice of their partners.

But they're not usually much of lookers, though. Just basic chicks, with a bit more broader views in life. But definitely not intellectual.

What people 'say' they want and what they actually want/or respond to are not always the same thing.

Beautiful people always have somebody waiting for them. Average or Ugly-looking people gotta work harder. There's more loneliness at the smart end of the scale than there is at the beautiful end. You might not like it, but it's true.

Ok, but you're not saying that ugly people are smart and beautiful people are stupid, right?

Yeah, it depends. I remember once in High School I sat next to this smart girl who often thought I was lookin' at her paper. I mean I recall she was kinda cute but I wasn't lookin' at her paper. All the time. Smart women seem to like me, I dont know why , but they do.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Yeah that's true for some guys. To me, if she's not smart she doesn't get all of the details that I bring to the table and what's the point of that? Maybe I'm in the minority here but no matter what she looks like I can't get past ignorant. As far as just sex with dumb people, to be really enjoyed it involves the mind as well.

I've always enjoyed both types of women.
They both have their pros & cons.

Those whom I've dated that were smart always helped me with my taxes 'n' stuff (I'm self-employed, so it really helps).
On the other hand, they always wanted to talk after sex.

The dumb ones, it was always so easy to get into their pants.
On the other hand,
they would never say anything to stimulate me on an intellectual lev falloff...oh man....I almost said that with a straight face.....

lol

falloff

I've got no choice, I have to like 'em.

According to the results of my I.Q. test , almost all of 'em are smarter than me.

But I'll tell ya,
I'd be going out with a much classier type of broad if only my brain worked gooder. pout
