But 30-something women need to unnderstand that guys do not want to hear about their shit from previous relationships.....we're really not interested! In Jersey's case, this girl is talking about getting the feeling that she's fathering him.....how stupid is she at 34? She should have noticed long ago that he's not interested!

Actually, the chick said she felt like she was"bothering" him, not fathering him. And to tell you the truth, guys are doing this "talk about my ex" stuff, too. I had to break things off with a recent guy I dated because it was absolutely boring and sad to listen to him talk about his ex. Some of us 30-something women have used our past experiences to learn and move along, healthier than ever! [Edited 5/21/06 15:13pm]

Which makes me wonder: Jers, what are you doing still having that around and playing it when you said you had to stop talking to her a long time ago?

actually, to be honest, I spent a good amount of time today cleaning up my PC. You know, organizing files and cleaning out unused files. It was in my sounds folder and being the attention whore I am, I posted it here before taking it off the PC.

Aww, hey, I wasn't trying to do that. I can understand being freaked out by someone's (over)reaction, I had a conversation similar to that last week that left me feeling like I was in an episode of The Twilight Zone. I always feel a little badly for someone when embarrassing pictures or (in this case) vocals are put up here on the Org without their knowledge. I think of how I'd feel if someone I thought was my friend--even if they weren't into me romantically--put me up for public ridicule. None of us know what happened--or DIDN'T--between you two, so we shouldn't make any generalizations or judgements of you and what you did or didn't do to her.

jerseykrs said: Here's the whole situation. You start out being friendly with someone, clearly stating you don't want anything else. They constantly bring up how much they like you and want more, and then you finally have to say bluntly that won't be happening. So there it is.
Then obviously she has a problem dealing with reality...and that you will be nothing more then friends. She needs to realize that you do not like her in the way she likes you. She may never realize that, but if she does hopefully you will be able to go on being friends. Think about it women do not like rejection, and what she is feeling now is hurt and confusion as to why you don't like her in that I wanna me more then friends way. Talk to her face to face and not by email or over the phone...and explain it all to her truthfully...if she gets it then great the friendship goes on...if she can not understand it from your point of view and except that is how its going to be then she will just have to move on with one less friend in the world at her own faults.
