Yup. I agree. lots of bullshit. If the guy is not smart enough to back-up the files on his laptop, I doubt he's smart enough to use all this technology to track down his computer.

another stupid thing is the bs about someone nicking a computer
clearly for an exam, having to do "hard time", lol, because on
this computer, there seem to have been "top secret" files. he's
stated himself at the beginning that the computer was stolen
for the exam.

I would like to know if he got the laptop back.

A similar situation happened while I was a sophomore in hishschool.

The teacher made a bs lecture just like this guy, but he never got his stuff back. So, we all had to suffer. Loads of homework everyday and he changed all of the exam questions.
I found out who the thief was the next year,he threw the teachers stuff away
