Do you know that I love the HECK out of seafood but have never had a soft shell crab? Does anybody know what kind of waters they're native to? I swear to god when I lived in Florida, I had an apartment directly on a HUUUUUGE canal, and sometimes after really heavy rains I would see a crab like this ocassionally walking across my yard...I remember they were always kind of blue in hue, and sadly I was always curious whether they were edible or not ...  ... | |

Someone recently told me a disturbing story about cooking live lobster though. They told me that when you put a live lobster into the boiling water to cook it, it makes a squeaking sound.   Poor lobster, I feel sorry for them when I see the live ones in the tank at the fish or grocery store with their claws all taped up. I feel bad knowing that they are just sitting there until someone buys them to take them home for human consumption. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |
