I get irritated when people make fun of her looks just because it's difficult to stick her into well-defined racial box of sorts. Kimora was mega famous in the fashion industry on the international front for the haute couture world because of her mixture...I remember she was was quite the star back in the day, but not commercially in the American sense that we are usually familiar with in modeling cause she was too exotic. However, she was a straight up Parisian muse, strictly industry hi-fashion jet-set, and was just booking ad campaign after ad campaign at a very Lolita-ish age...I think she was in her early teens...but she was just so TALL, and mature looking, but like, at 15 RICH as HELL, and at that time, very professional and a lot less scrappy than she is now (advertising campaigns, btw, pay the highest fees for everyone's salary in the fashion industry...what you do on the runways and in fashion editorial is what gives your agent the leverage to negotiate your rate for an ad job)...but she's always done well for herself financially as a model since she was about 13 or 14, I think... | |
