Brokeback ok..I know it's a movie from last year, but I just saw it last night, and thought the cinematography was magnificent. The acting was amazing..
I had a couple of questions though.. Who beat Twist up? (Jake G.'s character)..was it people opposed to his sexuality, or people who worked for Twist's father in law (to whom Twist shouted SIT DOWN OLD MAN) Why was Twist unfaithful to Ennis? I liked the soundtrack too

The old man wasn't that kind of old man. PurpleRein said: Why was Twist unfaithful to Ennis?
Why is anyone unfaithful? Difficult to answer this question without knowing what they were thinking. They were both unfaithful considering they were married and kept those relationships (and others) going as well.

PurpleRein said: Why was Twist unfaithful to Ennis? I think it was his way of dealing with the extreme frustration and deprivation the relationship required. Ennis wouldn't give up his life for Twist, so Twist was trying to cope and possibly free himself. I think he was reaching out for another path because the path with Ennis was becoming so miserable and fraught.

I liked the soundtrack too I just saw this movie too. It was...ok. Very depressing. I wondered if the Father in Law had him killed and the wife knew about it. What really bothered me was Ennis character. It was hard for me to see someone so represed that he did everything he could to stay that way. That said, I thought Heath did a great job protraying that. Christian Zombie Vampires

Ennis had been taught to hate everything about himself from a very young age, so it's not surprising he turned out that way. Unfortunately there are many people with similar problems.

The short story doesnt really go into detail bout the death,
I think that Ennis draws to the conclusion that Twist was gay bashed. Its never really spelled out. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

i found the movie to be a bore..unbelievable and felt no chemistry between the two leads..
the kiss between daniel day lewis and his partner in My Beautiful Launderette was far more passionate and believable and that kind of passion expressed was needed to get me to believe that these guys really cared about each other...throughout watching i couldnt escape the feeling that Brokeback was just a beautifully shot Lifetime movie... a far more groundbreaking queer film from last year was Saving Face....yet it went ignored because it didnt star two hot white straight guys. I saw the film just two weeks ago and found it to be MAGNIFICENT!
I was disappointed that rough, tough but bound-by-convention Ennis continued to let the romantic dreamer Twist down even at the very end. He should have demanded that the Dad turn over the ashes so he could sprinkle them over Brokeback Mountian. Instead he just let them bury his Love in an effin grave and took a shirt instead. That really pissed me off. It's because of behavior like this that Twist was killed in the first place. Ennis should have given him a reliable, safe, loving relationship like he desired. Instead, lost and tormented he sought out stranger. His blood in on Ennis' hands. Great love story. And I like that they didn't make the men all wimpy -- they wrestled and fought and make love . And can Ennis 'flip' someone or what. He does this rough, one-armed flip (with his wife and Twist) when he's um ..ready. I was like ...like damn! I want him! I LOVE dominant men.
