LMAO! Da Vinci Code at 6% on RottenTomatoes Is this the point when 40 million people realize how ridiculous the hype is? Whoever decided this should be premiered at Cannes needs to be fired. [Edited 5/17/06 19:45pm]

The reviews in Australia have been pretty bad/average.
I never thought this book would make a good film. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Most people are still gonna watch the movie regardless of the reviews, even if it's just to criticize it in the pub later.
I shall be going to see it with a copy of Brown's book and a small torch "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Yeah, I've heard that the movie is just OK. The book was great, but I'm not so sure I'm going to see the movie. I'm DaVinci-ed out.
As far as all of the controversy, it's much ado about nothing. I'm always amazed when church groups get their knickers in a twist over fiction. I can understand having an opinion on it,but wouldn't it be just suffice to say that it's fiction? It's like they end up bringing more publicity to something by asking for boycotts. At one point, if a person follows a certain faith, he/she will be challenged. So really if a person's faith survives, those challenges will just make their beliefs stronger, but then again maybe a little more compassionate, reflective, and tolerant at the same time.

Me either. I thought the book was good... not great... and that it seemed written in a style too aware of an eventual movie adaptation. Now that we have one, the mystique of the characters is lost, the dialogue seems preachy and the backstory seems more incredulous. Just not a good adaptation at all. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
