To the orgers who still write checks....

....it's okay to start using your debit card now. I know you have it sitting there with the activation sticker still stuck to it. Also, go ahead and throw away that 8 track... nod

LMFAO, there was a nice right up in Laptop mag about how they are going to start having it incorporated into our cell phones. All you'll have to do is swipe your cell phone by a terminal to pay for all sorts of things. It's common in asia. I'm looking forward to it.

I think I still have the same checks from when I opened my account when my ex wife and I split. lol

Some places don't have debit machines it's too expensive to maintain, so they want cash or cheque.

But you have an account on the ORG!!! You should be all over the internet! I absolutely HATE writing checks... I'm all about paying my stuff on the net or with sexual favors... nod

As a side note, anytime I have to write a check to a friend for something, I ALWAYS put something dirty and inappropriate in the memo section... you should try that - it's hella funny... nod

Well I don't do EVERYTHING the old fashioned way, about half of my stuff is automatic from my account. But I still deal w/ paper. I like paper. It's easier to track things if something goes wrong... I think confused

See, I find it easier to track on the internets.... then again, I'm a slob and I always lose papers, etc... so, I guess if you're organized, the check writing thing might be helpful.... All I know is that I LOOOOOVE online banking, etc. If I never had to write a check again, I'd be a happy man....

Oh - for those of you who use debit cards, are you one of the loons who updates your check registry every time you make a purchase with it? My mom does that... nod

There, there... If it's any consolation, I have neither a digital camera nor a digital/electronic planner/Blackberry. I'm all 35mm and paper & pen, where those are concerned.

Even?

Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

i still have to write checks for rent, but other than that i never use 'em. i hate checks. i'd rather have money debited straight from my account or from my credit card when i have to make a payment of some kind. i don't like waiting for someone to piddlefart around before they decide to cash my check.

Many places I used to write checks out don't even accept them anymore. Debit cards, credit cards, or cash nowadays.

my mom still writes out checks at the grocery store. i've tried introducing her to the self-service quick lanes where you can pay with debit, but she's not having any of it. disbelief

eek

I thought it was just me and my friends who did that! We one-up each other with every check. If our banks ever write up a no-raunchiness policy, we'll be the ones to thank.
