Okay, when I was a young kid I thought that the world was black & white when my parents were kids because all of their childhood photos were in black & white. I remember being glad that the modern world was in color.

I used to think the world was fair.

The only thing I vaguely remember is being extremely tiny (maybe 3 or so) and thinking that when our TV was shut off at night that all the TV stations around the world stopped broadcasting. It was quite a shock to come back and flip it on myself one evening to see stuff was still 'playing' even when our screen was off.

lol

OMG you have just given me a flashback of my little sister asking me (after tuning in to her show 5 minutes before the credits rolled up) "why wasn't it very long today?"

Plus I used to think that the music on the radio was played by actual people at the radion station. Never did think it was strange that so many different acts would fit in the dj's booth. confused

I used to think my grandmothers lipstick smelled sooooo good. Whenever she'd get ready to go out for the day or night, shed get dressed and come out of the bathroom with lipstick on. And smelled so yummy. Once in a while when I wasn't around her, I'd catch a whiff of the same scent and I'd look around for who might be wearing her lipstick. I never found anyone wearing it.
Then, years later, I learned that my grandfather bought her a bottle of Chanel No 5 for every birthday and Xmas present. (Incidentally, when he died, I took over that duty. touched ) I smelled it and recognized the scent and realized that all this time I thought her lipstick was Chanel No 5 scented. lol I guess I just saw the visual of the lipstick and caught the smell and associated it with that.

Okay, seriously - that's like the cutest story EVER!! touched
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

When the very first of the catholic priest scandals started coming out years and years ago and it was all over the news, my grandmother (my dad's mom) pulled my mother aside and said, "They keep going on about oral sex. I don't know what that is, do you?"
My mother told her she didn't know what it was either.

falloff

my mum said she only ever had sex 2 times (she only had 2 kids) and she insisted both times she was unconscious because daddy banged her head against the bedhead. omg I used to think that was funny at the time! lol I knew it wasn't true since their bedroom door was locked on MANY occasions!

My Mum always had long fingernails and I would watch her shaping them with an emery board..

so when she didnt know, I went into her bedroom and found this magic emery board and thought it would give me long beautiful nails too..

so I scraped and scrubbed and pushed it this way and that way across my nails, believing they would become long and pretty but infact they went way short right to the skin and they hurt.. sad

I just didnt understand!! confuse

worse was I had to tell my Mum what I did, cos I saw I had damaged my nails and was really worried, so confessing to the whole thing seemed like a really big deal and I would certainly get my ass whacked..

first cos I went into her bedrrom and *borrowed* her things

secondly my nails were short and a mess

lol
if sexy was a colour it would be red batting eyes

Me too! lol Think I was kind of disappointed when my mom explained to me that it was a record that was playing, and not a live person singing. lol

I used to think I was adopted, because everyone else in my family has dark hair, and my hair was blonde. I think I got that idea from a mean old priest from the church my family and I went to when I was little. He once said to me, "How come you have blonde hair, and everyone else in your family has dark hair. The stork must have dropped you off at the wrong house!" I remember I cried, that really hurt my feelings (jerk!). disbelief disbelief Of course I was not adopted, but that priest's comment really got me thinking that I was. My hair is still blonde, but only because I get it highlighted. lol
