Losing weight Has somebody already started this thread lately? Oh well!
Now that warm weather is approaching or has already arrived, I'm interested in finding out what my fellow orgers are up to, fitness-wise! I won't name names but I have been very excited and motivated to learn that some of my favorite orgers are really making a huge effort to shed the pounds and better their health! What does your fitness routine look like? How have your eating habits changed? How is it all different than it was, say, six months ago? Do you see any results? I've gotten into the habit of playing tennis three times a week. I also do some aerobic exercises in the morning and night. Sometimes I run - I'm going to take the dog out on a job in a few moments. I don't drink beer much anymore, the cigarette smoking is virtually nonexistant, and I try to stay away from fatty foods and enormous portions and late-night-eating. I also don't eat meat much anymore, simply because it's so expensive and I am always skint. I've also been tanning, which really helps my self-image. I think I've lost about 5 lbs in the past month. Although I think about a pound came from the fucking infected gland in my neck, which disappeared yesterday. I think I was allergic to Safeway's olive spread. I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

being sick with high grade fevers for the past month has done wonders for my waist line - i lost 20 pounds!
now that i'm better (and craving malted milk balls and indian buffets), i'm getting back to the gym, and i'm also looking into taking tai chi and/or yoga classes this summer. i also am making it a summer goal to try acupuncture. | |

My boyfriend wants to get back into tai chi and/or yoga this summer, too - strange that you mentioned it. Well Im getting married next year and I want to be really toned.
I started dieting in February. My eating habits havent changed drastically. (Im eating cake right now.) I count my calories and I've cut down my portion sizes. Im trying not make a big deal out of it,because I'll gain weight. I have quite a bit of dance dvds and I do those. When I get bored of those I jump rope and do some crunches. "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

Yep I have those dvd's. I do the hip hop one when I only have 20 minutes I always go back to my MTV The Grind tape and pilates dvd. i've been losing a lotta weight lately too...no dieting, mostly it's because half the time i'm broke, therefore no money for food. that, and also i don't eat as much as i used to. i actually lose weight over the winter months instead of gaining it nowadays. i haven't weighed myself in what seems like eons, but friends keep telling me that i've lost weight. i ain't exactly sure how much, though. | |

I've gained nearly 30 pounds since the fall of 2004. It's started to show on my face and stomach mostly (no six pack). This is very disturbing to me not becuase I am vain, but becuase I strongly believe that fat is not benighn. It will kill you if you don't use it. Our bodies store fat so that we can use it in times of famine (Which is why fasting is so beneficial), but as modern day humans, we simply don't endure regular times of famine. The fat in your body stores toxins, wastes, and most of the junk our blood/liver was not able to rid itself of quickly. Overtime the storage of these toxins can make us sick and kill us. A high fat body is NOT ever, under ANY circumstances, a healthy body, regardless of your weight.
I started a weight training excercise program 3 weeks ago and started taking supplements which aide my efforts. Since I started, my weight has gone up 2 pounds , but my body is starting to tone itself again. I figure for the rest of the summer I'll concentrate on gaining as much muscle as possible since this will increase my metabolism and aide in losing the weight in the end. | |

I always gain weight when it gets colder - I think it's a hibernation instinct or something. hehe, yeah it tripped me out last winter when i noticed that i wasn't gaining any winter fat for once. i was like "what? i'm LOSING weight, what the hell's going on?!" it's probably because i had no food most of the time, plus i didn't stay indoors as much as i usually do during the winter since the last couple winters here in mpls have been pretty mild so i was running around in the snow (or lack thereof) a lot. | |

I'm going to try to lose a little... My wieght seems to go up and down a lot, but it doesnt change that drastically. I just want to stay at the lower end of the spectrum!
Im just going to eat less, specifically less pizza, pasta and chocolate! And do more sit ups | |

Do you fast? How long do you do it for? I've always heard that skipping meals was not a good idea because when you do actually eat, your body clings onto the food because it doesn't know when it will get fed again. But I don't know how much I actually agree with the eat-a-lot-of-tiny-meals-throughout-the-day plan, either. It just seems to make me gain more weight. I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

It's amazing how my body changes if I just change my diet a little. I look a lot better if I cut out the high-calorie, high-fat foods. I mean, like, where is the sun? | |
