Elliot- Sleepwalked through the night...looked like he was conceeding third place without a fight. Kat- Oversang on first and third song but "Over the Rainbow" was inspired. She should sit down for all her performances. It chills her ass out. 
i agree 100% with your post...did you notice how Taylor was working overtime to stop himself from making Joe Cocker faces? He would start to do it and then pull back as if he had been watching Cocker's performance over and over to perfect it...Or worse, watching John Belushi performing as Joe Cocker. Katherine McFee is exquisitely beautiful, however her voice is not consistently strong....on again, off again.
Elliott is good, however does not have to comfort level or stage presence of Taylor. Taylor is an entertainer - pure and simple - and he not only entertains for the audience, he is entertaining himself....and having fun doing it. I am not convinced he is what I would call an 'idol' per se, however I do believe that up against Katherine and Elliott, he will win. For what it is worth....IMHO! The results are in. Truth be told I liked all 3 of them and it's sad to see them all go. I hope we hear a lot from the person who got voted off. It amazing how close it was. Crazy. I really dig Taylor, but winning a show like this is NOT the same thing as building a lasting recording artist career. He does NOT have a unique sound of his own. After the rush of the light from his AI stint, he will be playing bars in Alabama in 2 years. i think he's lovely | |
