What was the first record you ever bought? The first single i ever bought was Madness "Our House" when i was 5 or 6.
The first album i ever bought was "1999" by Prince. Whenever i hear "Our house" i get all nostalgic and to this day 1999 remains one of my favourite albums. Do you remeber any of the circumstances leading to you buying your first ever record? Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

My first record was Toyboy by Sinitta I remember going to Asda (or Gateway as I think it was then) in the van with my Mum and Dad, I mustve been about 4. Still have the sleeve, but not the vinyl for some reason
First album was I think something by Jason Donovan But I remember buying it, I didnt really want it, but there was nothing else in the shop I wanted and my Mum was going on at me to hurry up and I was getting all stressed! Mustve been about 6. Um, my taste has improved, by the way!!!

My father - when I was growing up - used to moan incessantly about male singers who sang in falsetto. Cos obviously that means they're gay. See: Jimmy Somerville. (Okay, bad example ). Fitting that, years later, my musical idol can shatter windows just by opening his mouth. And, no, I don't mean Mel & bloody Kim!

If we're talking cds, I was a late starter to all that.
(Bearing in mind that I have a father who banned a video recorder in our house for years as it would obviously bring smut and filth in)(I wish ). But my first two cds, I got them on the same day, were: ~ Diva - Annie Lennox ~ My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts - David Byrne & Brian Eno Bit of a weird purchase.
