Calories!

I just ate a bag of shelled walnuts and happened to look at the side of the packet...

The bag contained 100 grams of walnuts with an amazingly high calorific value of 702 calories!!! I've eaten the whole bag!!! I thought that nuts were supposed to be good for you???

For the same amount of calories, I could have eaten two bowls of spaghetti with a plain tomato sauce!



I could have eaten five packets of Monster Munch.



I could have eaten several bowls of instant mash.



Who knew? sad

They are really, really good for you. If you are using them to replace other fats in your diet (like saturated/trans fats), you're doing your body a favor. If you're adding them on top of those other fats, well, that's probably less than ideal.

nod they are terrific for you! but in moderation, as with anything, about a handful a day is beneficial without making you put on weight. you better go for a run around the block!! biggrin
