Would you help a child??

this is almost frightening to watch. you think you teach your kids what they need to know, and to think that even then it might not be enough....

if something like that happened that's in the clip would you think it was just a kid acting up? i have to admit i've seen something like that before (never with the child yelling "you're not my father" though....) and i didn't think anything bad about it.

Better to be safe than sorry. I've said it time and time again - Better cry wolf one too many times than to find out later you should have. I sure wish somebody would have reacted to my upbringing or lack of it.

People are so afraid of each other... afraid of getting involved.

I guess if we don't do something about the problem, we're part of it, aren't we?

Oh speaking of which, something terrifying happened in a small French village... maybe you guys have heard about it?

We all go to these little town festivals - ones w/ food, wine, dancing. Everybody knows each other, and thus assume that somebody in the acquaintanceship (if not family) are looking after the children...

Just last week or so, a little boy (4 years) disappeared right under his parents' nose from the village dance (Burgundy region, I believe). He was hauled to the nearby creek by a 50-something man, who raped and drowned him.

This was a man from the town, who everbody knew, a farmer like the others, who claimed that he'd suddenly been seized by an irresistible impulse...

More and more stuff like this going down in the smallest French towns, it seems. Right around the same time, a woman's boyfriend abducted and killed her 5-year-old daughter. The above took place in a sleepy Provencal town...

Scary, scary world...

OH NO !

poor poor babies! cry

yes I would help the child, I have gotten told to mind my business a few times but it doesn't matter, I would so hate to read about something happening to a child and knowing that I could have said something and didn't.

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.

You're thinking it, so I'll be the first to say it. White people in that video were pussies.

I'd call 911, or look around for a cop.

Those guys were crazy to chase that guy,God knows what he could have done to them if he was a real sicko.

This was my first reaction. The only ones willing to do anything were minorities. And you know what people would think of those 2 black guys walking down the street and yet, they were the only ones willing to do anything. In this day and age of cell phones no phone calls!?. That is probably the most disturbing part....that nobody even bothered to call the cops just in case.

I would totally have gotten involved there or at least try and attract attention to the guy so that he would let her go. That shit is just frightening....that nobody cares about kids that much.
