Would you loan out your fingernail clippers?

Does it bother you when other people use your fingernail/toenail clippers, or is it no big deal?

Personally, if someone close to me like a boyfriend or a close long-time friend wants to borrow 'em, that's...okay. But a stranger or a co-worker or something like that? GROSSNESS.

Someone at my job was just coming around to everyone's desk soliciting for fingernail clippers. I thought that was nasty. I also thought it was weird that he'd think I had clippers on me at work.

Anyway. Am I too prissy? Isn't it almost as bad as someone asking to borrow your toothbrush? Ew.

There is only one response to sharing nail clippers.

oh hell no. Did you know up to 700 types of bacteria live underneath your fingernails? Washing your hands can only kill about 20% of them.

Yeah, but we've all got the same damn bacteria under our fingernails. shrug

Nah, I don't care.

Toothbrushes, however, are a different matter. My couch-crasher/roommate asked if she could use mine when she "moved in". I was like, crackhead, there's a store on the corner, they cost 75 cent, GO GET YOUR OWN!
oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

maybe part of it is that i think being around people who are clipping their nails is disgusting, so why would i want to enable such behavior in my presence? and when did i become responsible for their grooming needs? ick!

use my soap, use my toothpaste - use my shaving cream if you must - but not my clippers. barf

No - I completely agree. nod

talk to the hand

I'm the same - I wouldn't want to be in their presence either whilst they were doing it, let alone lend them the clippers. I'd lend them to my mates but, even then, I'd make sure they got a good scrub. Certainly not to some colleague who probably didn't wash their hands after taking a piss in the bathroom. talk to the hand

I'm not that bad about things - well, unless they look like they need a good wash in the first place - but I know where you're coming from. nod

A mate of mine once asked me to wipe away an eyelash that was on her face. You would have seen that as a pulling opportunity lol; I was like 'Ewwwww'. lol But I wouldn't say I'm like Howard Hughes or anything.

People who coughe or sneeze over you, though, should be chair

I unfortunately read an article on the germs that live in hotel rooms. I already bring lysol and bleach with me whenever I have to travel, now I think I'm going to bring some Tyvek and cover everything with it
