POEM Time. (the prettiest girl I've ever known)

The prettiest girl on the dancefloor,
The prettiest girl in all the world to me,
Shame I didn’t make you happy,
It’s a shame I didn’t see,

The loveliest soul I came across,
A teacher of many things to me,
I was young an naive, then old and bitter, all sad and lonely,
And now alone and free,

The loveliest voice on the telephone,
Lips like honey to me,
And though I’ll never hold you again,
It makes me smile knowing that you have forgiven me,
That you have moved beyond me,
That you have gotten over me,

The prettiest girl in all the world to have ever loved dried up, brittle, vain, and discussing, vicious, self-absorbed, forgettable, little me.

Ur turn biggrin

this one is called..."my poem is far worser than imago's"

i smell the tobacco smoke drifting from the next room.
i turn off the light,i wont see him tonight.
he's close to me,so close that the fright
brings me to the captive thought..this is me..

im drifting again..
im waving again..
im loving again..

i try to play off embrassment.
as the tired eyes look so gloomly at me..
no one believes me..oh the things he saids
they make me feel so real..and maybe he is right....

perhaps..he's just a reminder i forgot to remember..

Killer Fixation
Elaine Degro

My thoughts are drained easily through the crevices of my veins.
Now I have a killer fixation that has made me insane.
A fixation with the bleeding of your fingers and dreams.
And my heaving breath in the frosty air can be seen.

Disgusting lullabies drunken in pleasure and lust.
And it was a broken arrow of anger and mistrust.
A killer fixation upon my feelings and treading toward yours.
You and your feelings will seemingly be torn.

I promise you...I promise you...
My killer fixation will not evade you.
Triffling lies, and a spear to the heart.
My killer fixation will always be of me apart.

Run away because it is I you can't out run...
But it is my remorseful pain that will leave you all outdone.
Those who brought pain and disgrace to my soul...
Will learn to not play with the condoned.

My killer fixation will swallow me whole but I will be known.
That I was more than the world has owned.
I will finish you all...
And I will take this fall.

I try to tell myself that none of is real.
But my killer fixation is too unreal.
Come try to break me again, I dare you.
You will be finished, I promise that too.

How can my eyes see light?
When it was all of you have challanged me to fight.
My killer fixation will win.
And all this sorrow will be gone in the end.

This is easy smile

Never truly believing my sickening treachery would trip me,
Surprised and upended, I plunge down into a well of despair.
My skin stained black, camoflaged against weaping walls,
As I fall, I see no shapes or images, but sounds
They abound, like wails of dying souls.
Dread gives up its seat to naked fear,
The air is wet with a morbid dew,
It's here, the end, a karmic smell,
My nostrils fill, consumed by a fate
Not death, but decay, a living hell,
It doesn't abate, but grows
It swells, then stops
And I know
I'm a 17 year old middle class girl from Ohio and I really should be doing my homework.

"Resignation" by Nikki Giovanni (I heard this and didn't want to write a poem for a good long while)

I love you
because the Earth turns around the sun
because the North wind blows north
sometimes
because the Pope is Catholic
and most Rabbis Jewish
because winters flow into springs
and the air clears after a storm
because only my love for you
despite the charms or gravity
keeps me from falling off this Earth
into another dimension

I love you
because it is the natural order of things

I love you
like the habit I picked up in college
of sleeping through lectures
or saying I'm sorry
when I get stopped for speeding
because I drink a glass of water
in the morning
and chain-smoke cigarettes
all through the day
because I take my coffee Black
and my milk with chocolate
because you keep my feet warm
though my life a mess
I love you
because I don't want it
any other way

I am helpless
in my love for you

It makes me so happy
to hear you call my name
I am amazed you can resist
locking me in an echo chamber
where your voice reverberates
through the four walls
sending me into spasmatic ecstasy
I love you
because it's been so good
for so long
that if I didn't love you
I'd have to be born again
and that is not a theological statement
I am pitiful in my love for you

The Dells tell me Love
is so simple
the thought though of you
sends indescribably delicious multitudinous
thrills throughout and through-in my body
I love you
because no two snow flakes are alike
and it is possible
if you stand tippy-toe
to walk between the raindrops
I love you
because I am afraid of the dark
and can't sleep in the light
because I rub my eyes
when I wake up in the morning
and find you there
because you with all your magic powers were
determined that
I should love you
because there was nothing for you but that
I would love you
I love you
because you made me
want to love you
more than I love my privacy
my freedom my commitments
and responsibilities
I love you 'cause I changed my life
to love you
because you saw me one Friday
afternoon and decided that I would
love you
I love you I love you I love you

A Man From China

There once was a man from China,
who wasn't a very good climber,
he slipped on a rock,
and cut off his cock,
and now he has a vagina

Wankee Doodle

Wankee Doodle came to town,

He was hung just like a pony;

Dropped his pants and his prick fell off

Seems it was a phoney!

My fave poem nod

The Silver Swan

The silver swan, who living had no note,
When death approach'd, unlock'd her silent throat;
Leaning her breast against the reedy shore,
Thus sung her first and last, and sung no more.
Farewell, all joys; O Death, come close mine eyes;
More geese than swans now live, more fools than wise.

ah, if only i had the guts to post a poem i've written here. lol

On a Journey

Don't be downcast, soon the night will come
When we can see the cool moon laughing in secret
Over the faint countryside,
And we rest, hand in hand.

Don't be downcast, the time will soon come
When we can have rest. Our small crosses will stand
On the bright edge of the road together,
And rain fall, and snow fall,
And the winds come and go.

- Hermann Hesse biggrin I love this poem.

Loud by nature, foul by station
undescerning by design
open envelope, closed mouth
finger searching navel:
birth-dent-bathroom-puddle-drain
should have shaved
but what the hell
We'll all succomb to our hysteric
allergies in time
Antagonist with coupons
blow wave and commercial smile
patterned dkny pants
I'm feeling slightly nauseous
and dream of nautical machines
The Nautilus !
The Nautilus !
Perhaps they can still hear me
if I scream loud enough
with my head close to the toilet.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I once knew a girl named Virginia.
I called her Virgin for short.
But not for long.

Fate

Fate
Always delivering a twist
Sending us on journeys missed
Dealing us blows on either side
An enduring love calls to me
Distant voices all I see
Telling me it's all been lies
The cold winds make us shiver
But a light sends us to the River
And along its shores we lie
Fate takes us on a ride
From her neither of us can hide
As under the stars we both die

What That?

Do you know What?
Why, I know him personally
He lives in my house
He’s a bit strange, though

I can’t say, “What am I going to do?”
He gets afraid and backs away from me
Far away

I get frustrated sometimes and say, “What in the hell?”
He thinks I’m accusing him of being a demon
Silly demon

Sometimes people say his name in a stupid tone: “Duh....What?”
He gets annoyed with those kinds of people
Stupid people

What does my wife think of What?
She doesn’t
She thinks of That...she is a friend of What

We all went out one night and someone said, “That is beautiful!”
That gets a lot of compliments
Many compliments

That also gets a lot of insults like “That has to be an idiot.”
That is very self-conscientious
Poor That

When I finish cooking us all supper, I yell “What That!”
For some reason I get strange looks at the food I cook
Bizarre looks

Once I was with What and I said, “Screw that!”
So he did
Now What and That are having a baby

Don’t ask for the baby’s name

cry bawl ...and I'm at work.

That's a hard one to follow, but we're not here to follow, so here we go (wrote it the other day about someone I fell in love with but who's moving to NYC):

Leave

Had the same basket of laundry waiting to be washed.
Hadn’t gone grocery shopping since the day I met you
Think I bought a bottle of shampoo and conditioner
You came out of nowhere, thin air
Now you leave
Now you leave

Red flags came up with your red hair
Even those didn’t scare me
I keep picturing you wheeling around NYC
Can’t think of it, can’t fathom the possibility
Now you leave
Now you leave

It’s disorienting, this feeling.
Keep on keeping on, but I’m not here.
Have been self-destructive, rationalizing the destruction.
Back on the horse…get back on it, dear
Now you leave
Now you leave

Grabbing for you, grasping for air
Nothing tangible, everything bare
You woke me up only to knock me out cold
My walls, my protection, have been bought and sold
Now you Leave
Now you Leave

Please leave.
Please don’t leave.
If you have to ask, it's more than worth it.
